It wasn't a question of if Alex O'Loughlin would get another shot at television; it was a question of which lucky network would land the Australian actor.

The star of the dearly departed vampire romance drama Moonlight isn't holding anything against the network that canceled the show. O'Loughlin has signed a one-year talent deal with CBS, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which means that he'll be working with the Eye again.

O'Loughlin will be the cornerstone of a series produced by big-name Mark Gordon, who currently serves as producer on Grey's Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Reaper, and Private Practice. The actor can also pitch projects to CBS films.

Much of Moonlight's draw is credited to O'Loughlin, who played the undead private investigator Mick St. John. He previously appeared in The Shield and August Rush, and can next be seen in the film Whiteout.
