Nick is opening the door for more Air.
When Avatar: The Last Airbender returns to the network on Friday, September 25, kids will be able to get five times their previous dosage. Nickelodeon will beging airing the show weeknights at 6:30 p.m. instead of once a week, on Friday nights.
Avatar premiered in February of 2005 and became an instant hit. The show averaged almost 8 million viewwers an episode, putting it in the top 10 animated programs on TV and making it Nick's top-rated show on Friday nights.
Nickelodeon has also expanded the Avatar Web site to include more online games, deeper character bios, and more bonus material to keep fans satisfied and to appeal to new seekers of animated action. The network is also using the Avatar revamp to beef up the content of its international Web sites.
Avatar's move from once weekly to each weeknight puts it in the esteemed company of popular Nickelodeon cartoons SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, and Jimmy Neutron.
Avatar follows a 12-year-old boy who is the legendary "bender," a being capable of controlling the elements. Typical for the genre, the boy just wants to be a kid, but adventure calls.

i live in Ireland and i always thought there was 13 episodes to book 3 fire,but i've been on some US sites and it says theres gonna be some new episodes out in may 16th.

Hey guys I know that Avatar is a great show and all and really I want to see more but this guy who posted that Avatar is going to air 9/25 is dated 9/25/06 instead of 9/25/07. I want my Avatar back and I hope they tell us fans is cancelled or not cuz I'm tired.

omg, i dont like the show that much, but it sucks 'cause they (the creators) have taken over seven months to release another episode, they may think that tey're "building trama" but they're just losing veiwers, I they don't put out another episode by 12/1 , i'll lose all, if the little hope that I had. how long canit take
Ummmm...take a good look at this article's date. It says 2006. Unless this is an error, I doubt very much that it will be premiering that late in the year.
if the 3rd season is going to air in september then i will scream i cant wait that long i am so impationt i know but you probably feel the same way i am a massive avatar fan even though i am a girl and non of my friends like the show well i dont think they do any way????
8 million viewers is a lot and I hope it is enough to convince the makers taht they have a big enough audience to keep the show going for more than 3 seasons. Also last I heard the thrid season is slated to be aired sometime this summer or as late as September of this year.

The avatar airing nightly? I hope that doesn't mean its airing reruns since the last seasons were wrought with constant delays where some episodes only arrived after two weeks! But if they're really going to air new episodes nightly, then that is very good news indeed!
