Lawrence Leung thinks his parents are
awesome and we can see why!
Both will feature across the series in hilarious domestic scenes as Lawrence sets about revisiting his upbringing in Lawrence Leung's Choose Your Own Adventure.
"My parents are awesome!" says Lawrence. "I think they are going to be stars out of this.
"I've got to watch out or the ABC will end up commissioning them for a series. Hopefully they'll write me into it."
Leo and Doris will be seen in the series as Lawrence tries to fulfil childhood dreams and fantasies including finding his school crush, trying to become a man, learning to become a world champion, becoming cool and turning into a rock star.
Lawrence's Hong Kong-born parents, however, really wanted him to become a doctor. Unfortunately for them, their son settled on a career in comedy.
"I've often featured them in my stand-up routines so it wasn't too much of a stretch to go to the next level and ask them to participate in this TV series," he said. "They were a bit nervous actually. They think their English isn't very good, but they've actually been here for about 40 years and their English is fine.
"The interesting thing is you turn off the cameras and they end up saying some really funny stuff. And we had to try not to laugh when the cameras were on."

Lawrence Leung's Choose Your Own Adventure premieres 9:30pm Wednesday March 25 on ABC1.
