MTV Renews Teen Wolf For Season 2

... Good news for all you lacrosse fans! MTV has renewed Teen Wolf for a second season after averaging 1.7 million viewers per episode, making it the network's highest-rated new series this season. [Deadline Hollywood]

... ABC has renewed Rookie Blue for a third season despite the fact that I only have a foggy recollection of it even being given a second season, but I guess that must be what's on now. The summer show is currently the number-one show in its time slot on Thursdays. But one has to wonder whether it's stunting Missy Peregrym's road to stardom. And I'm not being sarcastic. [EW]

OMG you guys Breaking Bad debuts this Sunday are you so pumped I'm so pumped because I love that show seriously it's amazing *deeeeep breath* it's been so long since it's been on I've been dying to see it and watch Bryan Cranston do his thing man! Okay, I've calmed down. Anyway, OMG you guys AMC is going to air a sneak preview of The Walking Dead's second season during Sunday's Breaking Bad premiere I'm so excited I love that show it has all these zombies and it's scary and Rick Grimes is badass and it's based on a comic bo—[Shut up! ... Speaking of people who used to be on House, Kal Penn has found a new gig. Penn, who left the show abruptly to work at the White House, is returning to acting via CBS' How I Met Your Mother. He'll play a love interest for Robin (Cobie Smulders) in a recurring role. [TV Line]

... 7th Heaven star and Super 8 stoner David Gallagher is joining The Vampire Diaries as a werewolf named Ray Sutton. [TV Line]

... Encore, a branch of Starz Entertainment, is getting into original programming, and kicking things off with miniseries. Its first project, announced today, is an adaptation of Moby Dick, starring William Hurt, Ethan Hawke, and nerd fantasy Gillian Anderson. Its second project, also announced today, is The Take, an adaptation of Martina Cole's crime novel that will star Tom Hardy. No word yet on the amount of boobs and violence we'll see in either series. [Deadline Hollywood]
