While more tequila is generally a recipe for debilitating headaches, sore knees, day-after apologies, and DNA tests, MTV is hoping it means more success.
The cable channel has announced a second season of A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila, the reality show that saw MySpace celebrity Tila Tequila choosing between 32 suitors. The twist is that Tequila is allegedly bisexual, and the contestants are both male and female.
Shot At Love scored big numbers for MTV, including an average of 6 million viewers and the highest-rated telecast since August 2005, according to MTV.
The second season will begin airing sometime this spring. The production company, 495 Productions, has also got an order for That's Amore, a Shot At Love spin-off featuring season-one contestant Domenico Nesci.
Season one of A Shot At Love ended with Tila Tequila choosing male contestant Bobby Banhart over female Dani Campbell. Apparently the reality-show-built relationship couldn't bear the weight of actual reality, and the two have since split.
However, the conflicting details of their breakup have many fans of the show wondering if this is Milli Vanilli all over again.
According to Tila's MySpace blog, "[Hosting MTV's New Year's Eve celebration] was amazing except for the fact that Bobby had broken up with me a few days before all of this went down. I wasn't expecting it at all because I thought I had finally found someone that I was compatible with, but I guess I was wrong."
Banhart has a different story, according to The Huffington Post. He reportedly fired back on his MySpace blog with spelling errors and text-speak, saying, "She never called me after the last show and no one would give me her number so pretty much I feel like and ass but we are not 2gather u cant have a relationship bye urself ya know."
