NBC Cancels Up All Night and Guys With Kids

The NBC comedy slaughter continues, as another pair has been tossed in the garbage. Up All Night and Guys With Kids have joined 1600 Penn and Whitney in the dumpster as NBC cleans out its comedy stash in preparation for next season.

Guys With Kids was an attempt to put NBC back in the multi-camera comedy game, but it didn't pan out. That's one season and done for the series about some guys who had kids. Hey, at least Anthony Anderson can do something better now.

As for Up All Night, well, that one was just a total f'ing disaster. Even with a cast that included Christina Applegate, Will Arnett, and Maya Rudolph, the comedy imploded thanks to creative differences behind the scenes. NBC even considered turning the show into a multi-camera comedy in the middle of its season. Good riddance, Up All Night. Thanks for setting your talented cast free!

NBC hasn't yet made a decision on Community, and probably won't say anything until after tonight's season finale. And all these other comedies getting canned only increases the show's chances at renewal. But then again, this is NBC, so who knows?

All y'all all stupid the show was great it was funny to me and I'm only 14 and Its was hard for me to laugh, that was like a guide through life for me and I wish they did not canceled it I just wished it kept going for like a good two to four season at least

I'm kind of glad Up All Night was killed before NBC had a chance to Fox it to death.

as Up All Night ended so abruptly, I feel kinda sad yet with all the mingling and stupid decisions, it is much better so see it dead then seeing it suffering as a mutant.. Now, as four comedies died, could you NBC renew Go On and The New Normal.. pretty please?

Up All night started quite well but by the end it had to be put out of his misery. I would have given Guys With Kids another chance. I hope that Go On is given another season but Community should be put to rest.

I wish they'd cancelled some of these shows while the deadpool was still open. Doesn't do me any good now. :-(

Almost every sitcom cancelled on NBC, GO ON has a good chance of survival

Just saw online, NBC is stupid afterall. They just cancelled Go On. They won't recognize great tv if it hit them on the head

NBC has to renew Go On. It's one of the best new comedies this season.

I just hope the peacock network has some on staff who knows a good comedy when it has one when it comes to renewing Go On and The New Normal. These two shows are funny (I especially like The New Normal) for Goldie's nanna and her "speaks her mind" way. NBC needs to pair these shows on Thursday or at least build a comedy block from 8-10 around them someway somehow.

I will miss Guys With Kids as I did find it funny and like Anthony Anderson (have sine he was on All About the Andersons). Are you listening TBS? Here's a chance to pick up a good sitcom that NBC threw away.

Looks like NBC hasn't anyone on staff with the ability to know a good sitcom when it has one as they just cancelled Go On. I just hope The New Normal has a better chance. But the way things are going at the peacock network I'd not be surprised to see The new Normal go too. It's no wonder this network is doing so poorly!

For the first time since it premiered, I'm not sure if I really want Community back.

I share the sentiments with Community and I'm hoping for Go On's renewal.

NBC to Fallon: So, you're going to host The Tonight Show... but you'll stay in the same studio and we're cancelling your sitcom.

I kind of liked 1600 Penn. Josh Gad was a bit annoying but the rest of the cast was very solid. There even were some truely funny stories, like the president convening his generals because he loses a game of risk against his son.
My biggest problem with Up All Night is that it often just wasn't funny. Great cast though.

So NBC's killing all of the 'broad' comedies they thought were going to save them. Delicious irony.

I know it's wrong but I consider this all great news. guys with kid I couldn't finish an episode of ...and as I've now said many times up all night should have been canceled the moment they canceled the ava show.

NBC: "There. Will you come back now?"

No.

Since Christine Applegate was wanting to leave the show that's good. I didn't really care for it so no big loss.

I'm so glad that Whitney and 1600 Penn are gone!

I agree with canceling all of those shows. I watched Up All Night, really liked the actors, but it was just another un-funny sitcom with a baby.

Wow, NBC finally woke up. Who brought the coke to the executive staff meeting?

They got it from the writers room... they thought they were borrowing sugar

NBC didn't cancel Up All Night, Christina Applegate did.

I hate that they cancelled Guys With Kids though, I was wary at first but it grew on me and I eventually really liked it. TBS could pick it up, pair it with Men At Work.. because they're basically the same show, just one has kids.

I am sad that these shows were canceled, but I expected it, especially with UAN.

I also enjoyed the show. Too bad - it was a nice family show without the smut of some of the other shows out there.

I also enjoyed that show. Ironically I assumed it would be cancelled immediately upon hearing the premise. But scrolling on Hulu I saw it, tried it and liked it.

I predicted this about 30 minutes before this on the NBC cancels whitney thread - i must be developing SUPERHUMAN POWERS!
Community will get renewed (if this happens, then i'm really developing superhuman powers.. or i might be a God)

Rob Schneider in quite a few movies = supervillain. It's dastardly the way he wastes people's time with terrible films.

On behalf of all who had Guys With Kids in their Dead Pool picks, I ask "why didn't NBC do this much, much sooner?"...

We were close, though. We were right that it'd get canceled. We just messed up on the when.
