NBC Dumps Love Bites

"How cute! Now pack your things and GET OUT!"

... You know how you meet someone and you can't get enough of them and you want to spend every moment of your life with them and you hype them up so much and can't wait to put them on your fall schedule then something changes and things go horribly wrong and you can't stand the sight of them and then you decide to burn them off in the summer and then you cancel them? Yeah, that's what happened between NBC and romance anthology Love Bites. The last episode airs Thursday. [THR]

... Proving that divorce trumps love, TV Land has renewed Fran Drescher's Happily Divorced for a second season because TV Land is just too nice to cancel any shows. [TV Land via press release]

... After a much publicized exit from the show after seven full seasons, Jorja Fox is officially back on CSI as a series regular. Fox, who plays the much-loved Sara Sidle on the CBS procedural, left the show and returned as a guest star, although you wouldn't know it since she appeared in almost every episode. Now she officially returns as a regular just as Ted Danson enters the picture as the show's new boss. What does this mean for you? Probably not that much. What does this mean for Jorja Fox's bank account? A lot! [TV Line]

... FX is one of the coolest networks out there, so pay attention to its fall premiere dates!

+ Sons of Anarchy: Kicks off with 90 minutes of biker-banging goodness on Tuesday, September 6 at 10pm
+ It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Fat Mac debuts Thursday, September 15 at 10pm
+ American Horror Story: Ryan Murphy's new horror-psychodrama-thriller-scary-thing debuts Wednesday, October 5 at 10pm
+ The League: Even if there's no NFL, there will be Paul Scheer; starts Thursday, October 6 at 10:30pm
+ Archer: Your favorite animated spy returns for a special three-week run on Thursday, September 15 at 10:30pm to try to grab some of the It's Always Sunny crowd

... Reality TV has focused on a lot of things, but one thing it hasn't really explored is Muslims in America. That's about to change thanks to TLC, which has greenlighted All-American Muslim, a reality show that follows five Muslim families currently living in America (hence the title). Watch as they defy stereotypes, deal with persecution, and cause a flood of hatemail to arrive at TLC HQ! [LA Times]

... Fox's The Finder has found a few female leads. Mercedes Masohn (Chuck) has joined the Bones spin-off as Deputy Marshal Isabel Zambada. Also joining the cast is 16-year-old Maddie Hasson, a young criminal who helps the team with its investigations. Masohn presumably replaces Saffron Burrows, who appeared in the pilot but is no longer part of the series. [Deadline Hollywood]

Jorja Fox was listed as a regular all during season 11. She was listed as a special guest star during seasons 9 and 10. Considering CBS owns TV.com, one would think you'd know that, unless you or TV Line has somehow confused Fox with Louise Lombard.

Love Bites was enjoyable, sometimes it didn't work, but you always knew it would only be one of three and the next one would be great. What a shame it's going!!

Once again, a smartly written TV show is shelved, probably to make room for more unscripted, moronic reality shows with untalented people. America wants to see itself on TV.

i still don't think the finder is a spinoff of bones in any way shape or form other than fox shoving in a backdoor pilot episode on bones. the show looks like crap and would take an overhaul on the cast before i would be remotely interested.

Goodbye to Love Bites a good way to waste the summer, and nice to know when we a going to have a laugh at some people that is not human but a so trashy anyway that you don't really care and Oh yeah, they are bartenders at a bar that rarely has any business. So they have their reason. :-)

Love bites was pretty good, but you kind of saw this coming with the fact that many of the actors had already signed on for other projects.

If NBC had been smart, they would have waited for Ms Newton to have the baby so she could play the virgin-character as seen in the pilot preview. Just wondering but has a main stars real life pregnancy ever been handled successfully by a tv-company so as to not adversely affect the tv-show ?

Love Bites was a good show, if NBC was smart (which we know they're not) they'd have kept it on, it could have easily gone on for years. the characters are only somewhat connected so nobody HAS to stay and thye could've easily gotten big name movie stars to do an episode. it was a good formula, if you don't like that week's cast, just wait for next week's. Happily Divorced is pretty good I guess. i wouldn't have really care if it didn't get renewed though. and do people really still watch any CSI anymore? the storylines have to be pretty out there or repetitive by now.

I would have watched Love Bites but I didn't because I knew it would bomb being dumped in the summer with a bunch of reruns. I didn't want to end up really liking it only for it to be canceled. Glad I didn't watch. Poor Becky Newton. Loved her on Ugly Betty.

Also enjoy Love Bites.... It's too bad it's not no CBS where they give a good show time to grow. No wonder CBS is kicking NBC's tail.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Not love bites... , it's one of the only refreshing Comedies out there , it has a lost twist of love and fun , it's really stupid to cancel a show like this and i really think DVD sales and Netflix streaming will force those idiots to take the show back to another season.
