NBC is rolling out the red carpet for its midseason replacement show about diamond thieves, Heist. The network is throwing the show a premiere bash at the Bulgari store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills on March 20.
The premiere party will feature the cast and creators of the series, as well as stars of other NBC Universal shows. The motif will be diamond-centric, as the show deals with a gang of diamond thieves.
In Heist, a team of criminals plans to simultaneously rob three different jewelry stores in Beverly Hills during Academy Awards week. The planning takes place over the course of the season, with the actual crime occurring at season's end (assuming the show lasts that long). Things are complicated, though, when one of the crooks falls in love with a detective who is investigating them.
The series is executive produced by Doug Liman, director of the films The Bourne Identity and Supremacy, and last summer's hit Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Liman also directed the pilot episode. Dougray Scott, best known as the villain in Mission: Impossible II, stars as the charismatic leader of the criminals.
Heist premieres March 22 on NBC.
