NBC is continuing its quick trajectory towards VH1 standards (which is probably more offensive to VH1 these days) with the announcement of the partial list of celebrities participating in the revamp of I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!. Let's just say Brad Pitt did not make the list.
The Hills' Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, former NBA player John "Spider" Salley, former model Janice Dickinson, former American Idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar, pro female wrestler Torrie Wilson, and Stephen Baldwin will be participating in the show this edition. Three more celebrities are expected to be added and announced at a later time. MTV has also picked up the rights to replay the series.
Disgraced former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich was among those angling to participate, but a federal judge rightly denied him… probably because he should be in jail (well that's for a court to decide). However, he will still have something to do with the show, as he was part of the press conference today announcing the cast.
In the show, the celebs are "dropped into the heart of the jungle" of Costa Rica where they fend to survive by engaging in activities to win food and various other necessities. NBC says viewers will get to decide who gets eliminated, which will be hard to pull off given that the show will air Mondays through Thursdays this summer--can anyone edit raw footage that fast?
I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! debuts June 1 with a two-hour event. Expect it to stop airing shortly after that. Ahhh... good old summer programming.

I like the show, good for summer, I love Sanjaya I learn to know his personality, he is brave and don't seem fake or act, I am sure that the celebrities enjoyed his character, a sweet person I will say.
i watched 5 minutes.... .. way 2 much
M--TH???????? seriously? waste of $$$$
This is exactly why NBC is failing; they have nothing left but mind-melting content. NBC CEOs should be the ones dropped off and left behind. Forever. Cull the gene pool.
Heidi and Spencer were enough to not make me watch, but Sanjaya and Janice too? Good luck with that show!
Will not watch this show just cause of those non celebs from the hills.
i agree with beachfrontglassthey should just leave them there, nobody'll notice theyre gone..television would just be a better place for real talent
so in other words "another group of has-beens trying to get back into the limelight" is what the show should be called
Four nights a week! That's insane! That's suicidal! That's NBC.
I really must say this again. Junk junk and more junk!
Wow - Janice Dickinson must be getting desperate for cash, she's already done the British one, which involved her constantly saying "oh mannnn" and saying she wanted people to vote her out. She was quite funny though and came 3rd I think. It just shows that your level of celebrity is pretty bad as well on these shows though when they have Sanjaya on (can't stand the talentless fool myself). I don't know about the American version, but the British version of the show is hilarious, but I think a lot of that is down to it's two presenters (Ant & Dec) rather than the celebrities.
I love the idea of stranding these wannnabees out in the jungle, but I don't want them to be on tv or have them come back to civilization.
it was great knowing ya NBC, now off to bigger and brighter things
Rrrrrriiiiight! Blockbuster, here I come.

Remember when NBC had "Must see TV"? Friends? Seinfeld? Cosby? Cheers? ER? Now they're clinging to the few gems they have left (SVU; The Office; 30 Rock and Southland) and spewing out this trash to fill the schedule. Sad.
REALLY NBC?!? This is just sad, get some real shows on ur dumb network, what are u doing? Ur given up like little ***heads, first jay leno and now this!
Come on now -- they are going to drop good shows for this?
This is by far the bottom of the barrel for NBC.
Oh, Dear God. Please Make It Stop!!! It's sad that one of the "Big Three" is falling behind The CW.
Hey, NBC, remember how you were failing miserably a few years ago? Get ready for deja vu. This is the end.
Reality TV suck always.. And when you have morons like Sanjaya malakar, heidi montag, and spencer pratt, ..it just sucks more..Way to go NBC..
How many nails does a standard coffin take, and which nail is NBC on right now. I may have been wrong about the possibility of a network failing out of a business.
Junk Junk and more Junk!
And NBC wonders why its doing so poorly...
ABC tried this same show a few years ago with Robin Leach and a bunch of hasbeens....and it failed...so NBC thinks it will succeed via saturation showing in the summer? Maybe Sanjaya's singing will keep the jungle animals away or NBC will just cancel this and forget to bring the remaining celebrities out of the jungle....just kidding...I think.
Copying the english show much?? Will America just copy any show they watch in another country?
Just when you think it is safe to turn on the TV... they put this kind of junk on!!!
