He who laughs last laughs best. Or at least last.
Last Comic Standing will see the return of its first comic host as Jay Mohr returns to the show tonight for the 90-minute finale.
Mohr hosted the show for its first three cycles before he left and Anthony Clark stepped in for season four.
Mohr parted unamicably with NBC after the network canned Comic in season three with one episode still unaired, before announcing the winner. Mohr remained one of the show's executive producers, and Comedy Central eventually ran the episode (the winner was Alonzo Bodden).
NBC brought Comic back this summer, and it has been earning respectable ratings. The fist half of the Comic fourth-season finale aired Tuesday, drawing in 7.7 million viewers, making it the highest-rated show of the night. The hour helped NBC to a nightly ratings win.
Tonight, finalists Josh Blue and Ty Barnett will compete for a Bravo comedy special and a talent contract with NBC.

Hopefully Jay Mohr will be host of season 5. Anthony Clark was shaking like one of those tiny dogs on the finale. He is not neary as funny or talented as Jay Mohr.
