How far would you go to save one of your family members? That's what NBC's new drama Crisis ventures to answer.
On the series — which stars Gillian Anderson, Dermot Mulroney and Rachael Taylor — Washington's most powerful players, including the president, find themselves blackmailed into an international conspiracy when their children are taken hostage during a school fieldtrip. "The machine of the season is what will you do for your child," executive producer Rand Ravich told reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour on Sunday.
Though the premise of parents being driven to do illegal acts to hopefully save their children may seem somewhat similar to Hostages, Ravich says they paid no attention to the now-defunct CBS series. In fact, the writers planned from the beginning to have a very closed-ended story line to the series, with just a small thread that could continue on in a second season should they be so lucky.
