Netflix Renews Hemlock Grove for Season 2

We haven't seen the last of Hemlock Grove's puking, disruptive boob-touching, and eye-popping werewolfing! Netflix has renewed the Eli Roth-helmed horror series for Season 2, ordering 10 episodes with a target launch date of 2014. The company has also announced that Charles H. Eglee will join the series as an executive producer and showrunner; Eglee's previous EP credits include The Walking DeadDexter, and The Shield

Because Netflix has yet to release any hard data with regard to how many people are watching any of its original series—which now include House of Cards and the recently released fourth season of Arrested Development, with Orange Is the New Black slated to launch in July—I can't really tell you how successful Hemlock Grove is, at least from a business standpoint. But Roth can! Here's his official, company-approved statement, straight from the press release.

The worldwide fan response to Hemlock Grove was phenomenal. Netflix members loved the potent combination of sexy monsters, mystery, and the dark family soap opera that ended with a huge twist, leaving audiences worldwide totally shocked. Season 1 was just a warmup for what we have in store for Season 2. Get ready to be scared in ways you never expected.

Well gee, when you put it that way... I probably still won't watch it, since I personally didn't feel compelled to watch much of Season 1. Did you? If so, will you be back for Season 2?

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! The only thing I'm mad about is that it took me so long to start watching it. I have totally binge watched for 2 days.

OHH MY GOD, THIS SHOW!!!! It seems like I've been waiting FOREVER for the new season to begin. This show is sooo addictive that literally I watched season one last spring I think it was and it was so good, I stopped watching at the last two episodes just because I knew I would have to wait for season 2 and I wanted to transition into the next season. I just didnt want it to end. Netflix SERIOUSLY need to change the time length in which they add new episodes because we are ALL waiting for our favs a lot too long, so long in fact that often we forget we are waiting and move on to other show. Im just saying FYI if show success begin on viewers popularity then adding new episodes in a timely manner is KEY ingredient. .

At first i didn't exactly understand how Christina was the killer, But then she knew the new family (Peter) was a werewolf and she drank from a print that was found in the woods. Then at the beginning it showed Shelley and what she looked like and there was nothing further, And probably because shes the Father or JR, He killed himself knowing what Olivia[mum] was or Is. And i didnt understand what shelley was, But because Olivia killed babies in the past because they weren't vampire like at all. Shelleys father must of rushed her to Dr Pryce.. And the baby of Letha is Romans. He raped her. I can't wait for the second season. And i think there should be a third. But because Peter doesn't know that Roman has turned into his vampire form fully, Or that he raped Letha, And Lethas story is far from over because at the very end it shows the girl in the Incubator. Well that was Letha because Dr.Pryce bought her back to life like Shelley. And when Peters mum and Peter said bad things happen to those who don't have there heads chopped off, Well the story of Christina is far from over aswell.

I absolutely loved season 1 and I've been waiting for a second season since I finished it! I thought the characters were good, the plot was interesting without being too jumpy and unpredictable. It did take me some time to catch on with how they presented the show but by the third episode I was completely hooked!

My husband and I sat down to see what this was all about, so it took me all of a weekend with my children off, and my husband never did get to finish. I could not stop got all the house work done, and my husband had to work ... I am sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting for Season two. It will not take me long to see it but I will be very happy.

It's one of those great guilty pleasure shows. Famke Jansen is amazing. It is not so much of a good show as a show that you are just kind of compelled to watch and don't feel too bad about it. It is certainly more interesting than twilight.

Interestingly enough, Netfilx surprises viewers with this storyline that eventually leaves the viewer wanting more. The season starts off a bit awkward, and may provoke a sense of cliche from all of the current pop interest of were-wolfs and vampires, but this story does instill the viewer with great interest. I hope they continue into another season.

This show is really excellent. It is well done, intriguing, fun and sexy. I keep wanting to watch to find all the missing pieces, and I hope season two is just as good. I would have been very surprised if this show was anything but a success.

I really like the show, it kind of has a Twin Peaks vibe to it. While many will complain that it's vague I believe that is the whole point, it's a smart show that let's your imagination fill in the blanks.

I can't wait for season 2!! The first one kept me on the edge of my seat for the most part and the plot twist at the end both blew my mind and confused me greatly. Either way I'm greatly looking forward to season 2:)

Damn right we will be back for season two..... The only thing wrong with a season two is having to wait until 2014 because it can't come back soon enough for our family!!!!!!!!!!!! It was great that they posted the entire first season all at once so you didn't have to wait every week and a stupid mid season break which was great and we have re watched it several times, were watching it again tonight, the whole first season so great job Netflix, you did good with this series and cannot wait to see the second season because its gonna be great

I liked the first two episodes and the last three, the ones in between were slow moving, dialog hard to hear and understand and some of the scenes dragged on and on. Then there were the last three episodes, which I watched back to back. WOW! I can't wait for Season 2 (even with the bad dreams). I hope some of the questions will be answered, like what happened to Shelley, why did Olivia kill her other babies and not Shelley? and why the heck wasn't Letha's mother with her during her labor/death? All in all it's a creepy, scary, dark storyline. Definitely need a strong stomach for this series.

The first season was OKAY, I mean the show cant hold a torch to other horror/fantasy shows like Being Human, Supernatural or True Blood, but it was intriguing to say the least and the werewolf transformation was amazingly executed, and the season finale was really weird. I wouldn't say I exactly care or connect with any of the characters, but the way the characters interact and the ambiguity of what's happening is a great way to progress the story without having to explain to much, which at the same time can be annoying.

Nevertheless, I'll be watching Season 2 most definitely

I felt like the show was draggin me along until the last two episodes and now I'm REALLY interested. I kept expecting interesting or shocking things to happen before those last episodes annnnd nothing ever did. Hope the 2nd season doesn't follow the same trend.

Many of these comments say, 'I didn't get it.' Well, hmmm... is that not why one season goes into the next? If you got everything and it gave away everything going on it would be over and pointless. I thought it was amazing, and perfect for people who love gore and shows based around the supernatural.

Man I know 2014? That's 5 months!!! I love Hemlock Grove. It was exactly what I needed to have enter my life. It's gory, its dark, its sexy and generally f*ed up which. Makes it real and original and gritty. Didn't want Letha to die tho..but questions red asked and eyebrows are raised...was that Letha in the last 2 seconds of the season finale?? Is she the new Uroborus??? Hmm we will see.CAN'T WAIT!!!! Thank you again Netflix and all of the actors and actresses and production team and everyone who helped bring it all together..oh by the way..I Love You Shelley!!!!!!!!

Once you get past the bad acting in the first couple episodes (which gets much better), it develops into an amazing, and thrilling, series! I absolutely can not wait for season 2.
