News Briefs: CBS Uncancels Unforgettable


... CBS is giving Poppy Montgomery 13 more episodes, bringing the fetching redhead back for a summer run in 2013 after canceling her this spring. Well, at least that's the way I see it. You probably will understand this better if I say CBS has uncanceled Unforgettable, the procedural starring Poppy as a detective with a freakish memory. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Anger Management, Charlie Sheen's new comedy on FX, debuted last night to terrible reviews and fantastic ratings. The show drew 5.5 million viewers to become basic cable's biggest scripted-comedy premiere ever, proving that America has a really weird infatuation with Charlie Sheen. But the new sitcom also helped FX's other comedies, boosting the viewership of Louie and Wilfred, so that's good. [EW]

... NBC is going to air a live broadcast of The Sound of Music because NBC is just plain crazy. It will be produced by the producers of Smash. This should be a delightful disaster. [Deadline Hollywood]

... USA Network has ordered the series Graceland, from White Collar creator Jeff Eastin. The show, which was named something else entirely while it was in development, follows members from different government agencies as they live together under one roof in a safehouse in SoCal. [TV Line]

... Bristol Palin's reality show Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp has been yanked from primetime because it's a huge failure. It will now air at 11pm on Tuesdays, where it will die a slow death. [The Wrap]

... TLC has renewed Four Weddings. No word yet on the funeral. [EW]

... NBC's Fashion Star is... still on? Oh. Well, when it returns, it will do so without its host Elle McPherson. She's stepping down but will remain on as a producer. [EW]

... NBC's upcoming Revolution is adding Daniella Alonso to its cast. The former Friday Night Lights actress will play a rebel fighter in the show about a world that's been turned upside-down because power and energy have ceased to exist. [EW]

... The Secret Circle's Chris Zylka will be joining FX's American Horror Story for Season 2. He'll play a deaf-mute character named Daniel, oddly described as "the most beautiful boy in the world." Humble! [EW]
