BUSINESS TIME

... Last night's Oscars broadcast was watched by 40.3 million viewers, according to Nielsen's outdated educated guesses. That's ahead of the 39.3 million who watched last year, leading some to suspect that this year's host Seth MacFarlane may have been a draw, especially for the 18-49 demographic, which rose 11 percent to a 13.0 rating. If that's the case, next year will just be MacFarlane singing about tits and Jennifer Lawrence falling down an endless flight of stairs for three hours. [ Deadline Hollywood ]

... TBS has renewed its nerd-off King of the Nerds for a second season. The reality show features a bunch of young people that producers consider to be nerds doing things that producers consider to be nerdy things in a competition to fulfill stereotypes. [TBS via press release]

... TLC has renewed Breaking Amish for a second season, even after the first season was riddled with accusations of faked backgrounds. The same group of Amish folks will be back next season, and this time they're heading to sunny, electricity-filled Florida. [TLC via press release]

... Have you been really wanting to watch Breaking Bad but your TV is stuck on the Sundance Channel? Good news! The network will be replaying the first four seasons of the AMC hit beginning March 4 at 11pm. So go get some meth and stay up for days watching the best show on TV! [Sundance Channel via press release]

THE BOY WITH A THORN IN HIS SIDE NEWS

... Morrissey was scheduled to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live but has refused to appear after finding out that the cast of Duck Dynasty would also be on the show. Morrissey said: "As far as my reputation is concerned, I can't take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers. If Jimmy cannot dump Duck Dynasty then we must step away." God bless Morrissey. [ THR ]

Lindsey needs to be locked up for a year to save her life and taken away from her mother.
Her mother needs to start acting like a mother. The judicial system needs to wake up

re: Morrissey: Are we surprised? The Smiths had a song AND album called Meat is Murder. It's nice to see someone stay true to their ethics even after they make money off of it.

PS - Spy is now officially going to be canceled in 11 episodes or less. Network cannot handle all that.

Eww, Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan together, that's a recipe for STDs and shame just watching it.

Greg Grunberg, take Robert Downey Jr.'s advice from Tropic Thunder before your career is killed.

Christine Lahti as a police captain? I'm getting tired of "white lady tough guy police captain" characters, it's like an anti-stereotype stereotype, so I hope that's not what they're giving her... but it's CBS so that's totally what they're giving her.

Seth MacFarlane didn't even dip into his animated show repitoire, that's a whole Oscars broadcast all by itself: "Hey Lois, here's a whore who starred in a movie to tell you about who died! Remember that time I created an In Memoriam reel with Darth Vader?"

King of the Nerds gets a pickup? I'm surprised, it's fun but feels kinda thin like nobody else is watching.

Ok Morrissey, that's reasonable, if perhaps a bit strange.

Morrissey is another PETA rabid individual who thinks the world is better off without humans. As for Duck Dynasty, there's more humor in it than a lot of "approved" sitcoms these days.

The world seems to be agreeing with that sentiment, judging by how many elements of it are trying to wipe us out lately.

40 million people had NOTHING better to do than watch some lame "awards" show on sunday night? Good grief

I gotta say, I haven't been a huge "Senior Chang" fan ever since he got fired as a professor. Since then, his episodes have been hit or miss. My only real favorites since then were when John Oliver "chased" Chang with his protection-order through the cafeteria (but that was mostly Oliver's portrayal) and a few one-offs like how far he went with D&D.

But as a professor... he was my favorite character on the show.

Like everyone else, I still can't believe FX ordered 90 MORE EPISODES of Anger Management. They actually expect people to watch it over a year from now in syndication??

I'm definitely ready for the Breaking Bad mini-marathon next week. Got a lot of catching up to do!

In no way can Ken Jeong pull off the examiner.

When I first heard of Spy being made in America the first person that came to mind doing the Examiner was John Goodman, does not look like Robert Lindsay, but he can sure pull the character off. Ken Jeong, not so much.

There should be another option in the poll reading: "What the frell is Duck Dynasty?"

Man, Spy just went from good to oh man, I want to see this right now, but wait, I never ever want Community to leave my television screen ever, so please don't go, Ken.

Great news for Breaking Bad, now I can start watching it! (Please someone remind me around that time I can DVR it)

Camp sounds interesting, love that Rachel Griffiths, she can be so intense.

As for Morrissey, I think he is right here. Duck Dynasty, really? These shows have got to stop. I just found out there is a show about big rig bounty hunters. What's up with that?!

As a liberal, I find Morrissey is the kind of person that gives the term liberal a negative connotation. Dude always has something to bitch about, such a diva.
