News Briefs: Obama vs. Susan Boyle, KFed, and SyFy's Stargate Universe

... Barack Obama may be the President of the United States, but apparently he's no match for the mighty Susan Boyle. Last Friday's announcement (via the White House Twitter feed!) that POTUS will hold a live press conference during primetime on Wednesday, July 22, ruffled a few Peacock feathers: NBC's Wednesday-night lineup not only includes America's Got Talent (summer's most-popular show), but this week's episode includes a heavily hyped interview with Boyle -- and the network was reluctant to let the president knock the singing Brit out of the airwaves. So? The White House rescheduled for 8 p.m. instead of 9 p.m., and the Susan Boyle show will go on. (CBS and ABC will also air the press conference; FOX has refused.) [via The Live Feed]

...Kevin Federline may be getting his own reality show. Rumor has it that the former Mr. Britney Spears and his current girlfriend, Victoria Prince, are in talks with VH1. [via E!]

... NBC is reportedly trying to get its hands on -- and willing to pay $10 million for -- the broadcast rights to an August 29 Michael Jackson memorial concert that's being held in London. The network is likely hoping to air the event as a TV special during the premiere week of Jay Leno's new talk show to add a built-in boost to Leno's debut. [via Showbiz 411]

... Comedian Garry Shandling's groundbreaking TV show, the aptly named It's Garry Shandling's Show is finally coming out on DVD. A box set that includes the complete series and extensive extras will hit shelves on October 20. [via TV Shows on DVD]

... The recently renamed SyFy channel has released its fall schedule. And? The much buzzed-about two-hour series premiere of Stargate Universe will premiere on Friday, October 2 at 9 p.m. You're welcome. [via The Live Feed]
