News Briefs: Summer Glau Joins TNT's Dog-Cop Drama


... Summer Glau! Summer Glau! Summer Glau! The sci-fi It Girl from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Firefly, Dollhouse, The Unit, and The 4400 has found a new regular gig, this time on TNT. Glau has signed on for Scent of the Missing, a drama about a K-9 Search and Rescue squad, as a new team member who's sexy and rich. She joins previously announced lead Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) in the cast, making it TV's hottest team of sci-fi starlets on a show about police pooches. Elsewhere, Niecy Nash has landed the female lead in Cedric the Entertainer's Hot in Cleveland spin-off, but let's face it, you came here to read about Ms. Glau. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Fox has canceled In the Flow With Affion Crockett. It was a sketch comedy show produced by Jamie Foxx that people insist actually existed, but I still don't believe them. [Deadline Hollywood]

... TLC has renewed Long Island Medium for a second season, so it is apparently a real show. My Quija board says it follows Theresa Caputo as she nags the undead into speaking with their relatives and loved ones. [EW]

... Good-show premiere-date alert! HBO will debut Luck right after the season finale of Boardwalk Empire on December 11. ... NBC's Rock Center with Brian Williams stunk up the ratings last night, just like everyone thought it would. 4.1 million people watched, good enough for a 1.0 rating.
