MTV has announced it will bring Nick Cannon's sketch comedy show Nick Cannon Presents: Short Circuitz to the network in early 2007. The half-hour show has an eight episode initial order.
The show will star Cannon and comedy players Affion Crockett, Eliza Coupe, Leonard Robinson, Taran Killam, and Katt Williams, in sketches and parodies of pop culture and politics. Cannon will also serve as creator and executive producer.
Short Circuitz follows the successful sketch/improv series Nick Cannon Presents: Wild N' Out, now in its third season on MTV.
"It is an honor that MTV and its executives have given me another opportunity to express my creativity," Cannon said in a statement.
Cannon starred in the 2002 film Drumline and currently voices a character in the animated film Monster House.
