Sloppy seconds in the television industry is usually a bad idea, but when the scraps happen to come from CBS' table, conventional wisdom goes out the window. ABC reportedly has its eye on The New Adventures of Old Christine, which is one of CBS' "bubble" shows.
According to EW.com, Christine's producers at Warner Bros. Television are currently in negotiations with ABC about taking on the comedy in the event that CBS doesn't renew the show. It's currently unclear what CBS' plans are for the four-year-old show, but with its stable of top-watched shows, it has many options.
This is the second year in a row ABC has offered to adopt The New Adventures of Old Christine, which stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as a women reinventing herself after divorce. ABC is no stranger to picking up other networks' leftovers, having taking Scrubs into its fold from NBC this season.

hrgaffney ~ i can't believe that NBC gave up Scrubs! they're struggling already & lost part of their Must-See-Thursday line-up...idiots!!!!!!
I'd like to see it come back, any way.
Old Christine is one of the best (and only) traditional sitcoms out there... I'm really happy that ABC is showing the love for the second consistent year. It's putting great pressure on CBS and is almost guaranteeing a Season 5 for Old Christine.
Good idea, Would also like them to pick up Gary Unmarried if CBS cancels that as well.
Love New Adventures but as long as How I Met Your Mother is picked up again I don't care about any other sitcom.
Wish NBC would pick up some of these shows
I hope Christine survives as I've always enjoyed it. ABC were pretty successful with the last Scrubs season so maybe this will work.
ABC seem to pick up many shows from other networks
Sounds like Christine is gonna make it.
