One Tree Hill Welcomes Back One of Its Original Stars

Hint: It's not the one on the right.

Chad Michael Murray is returning to the show that made him a household name, and will reprise the role of Lucas Scott in a guest appearance on a future episode of One Tree Hill. Rest easy. He's as svelte as ever. [The CW, via press release]

… The (boring, headache-inducing) VMAs proved a ratings powerhouse for MTV, with 12.4 million viewers tuning in. That's the biggest audience ever for the music video awards show, which is somewhat hard to swallow, seeing as the network stopped making music videos in 1998. (Seriously. Tipper Gore got them banned in Congress and everything.) The Jersey Shore episode that led in drew a big rating, too: 8 million total viewers, up 40 percent from last year's similar lead-in episode. … Confirming rumors that Bravo would milk sensitively handle the subject of Russell Armstrong's suicide for ratings its grief-stricken audience, an hour-long special devoted to the tragedy has already been shot. Lisa Vanderpump, Camille Grammer, Kyle and Kim Richards, and Adrienne Maloof will all appear in it. Taylor Armstrong will not. [EW]

Men of a Certain Age, TNT's paean to paunchy pals past their prime, has given up hope of finding a new home. Co-creator Mike Royce told fans on the "Save Men of a Certain Age" Facebook page: "I have to tell you that we've kind of reached the end of the road. Hard to admit, but it's true." [TVLine]

Judy Greer—yes THE Judy Greer of Miss Guided fame—has been cast as Ashton Kutcher's ex-wife on Two and a Half Men. Distraught over their breakup, Ashton's character buys Charlie's house and convinces "Alan and Jake to stay there with him, with Alan serving as his love mentor." Is Alan the guy Jon Cryer plays? If so, Ashton's screwed! LOL! [EW]

… The Absolutely Fabulous reunion is officially official! Three specials are in the works, which will "reunite the Patsy and Edina characters with Edina's daughter, Saffy (played by Julia Sawalha), and assistant, Bubble (Jane Horrocks)" for a "life-changing experience for one—which affects them all."
