Well, Captioners, this is it. As much as it pains me to say goodbye (and it does!), it's go time. Literally. But actually, you know what? You don't have to let my abandonment keep you from captioning—qbe_64 made a pretty great call over the weekend:
I say go for it! Go rogue! Keep the tradition alive! In the meantime, here are the winners from Friday's contest. Like many of you, I felt that capping off the season with an Open Caption inside joke was the perfect way to go out:
Walter: "I get paid over $87 per hour working from home with a cow named Gene and pancakes. I never thought I'd be able to do it but my best friend earned over 10k a month doing this and he convinced me to try. Unfortunately, he almost destroyed the world."
Walter: "Wow, even after 25 years, people still drive cars... suck on that, Emmett Brown!"
Walter: "Welcome to 2036. The TV.com Open Caption Contest will finally be reappearing in 3... 2... 1.... now! ....Now? ....I'm sure my calculations were correct."
Thank you, all of you!
It's been a fun ride, all! Special thanks to those of you who have remained loyal captioners since I can remember, but also to those of you who just felt like popping in on occasion. Without all of you, this whole game would have sucked. And it didn't! So that's something! I hope you get to start captioning again soon, but in the meantime, keep it real, and all the best!
