The stars are ready to be slimed in the 2009 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.

The orange carpet has been rolled out at Hisense Arena, and the slime is being loaded as the 2009 Kids' Choice Awards (KCA) are set to explode.

Friday the 13th is the auspicious date of this year's event, as the year's biggest date on the kid's calendar arrives.

The KCA's is growing in size and impact every year. This is the seventh year of the awards and it has garnered over 1.2 million votes cast via online and through interactive voting. Annual KCA events now take place in Brazil, Mexico, Sweden, Holland, Italy, China, the UK and Australia.

It is proving to be a great litmus test of who is hot with kids around the country.

And what a roll call they have:

Rove McManus, Short Stack, Bindi and Robert Irwin, Rachael Finch, Vanessa Amorosi, Josh Thomas, WWE Diva Eve, WWE Superstars' Edge, Poh Ling Yeoh, Julie Goodwin, Kyle Linahan, Angus McLaren, Cariba Heine, Sam Clark, Margot Robbie, Peter Helliar, Nat and Alex Wolff (The Naked Brothers Band), MTV's Ruby Rose, Nickelodeon's Dash and Will and Luke and Wyatt, Ed Kavalee, Shaun Micallef, Dean Geyer, Andrew G, Nacho Pop and James Sorensen.

Delta Goodrem is hosting, ably assisted by Joel and Benji Madden.

iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove is the special guest while Guy Sebastian, Jessica Mauboy and Cassie Davis will all perform.

Melbourne is the host city for the awards once more, and to mark the occasion, Flinders St Station has even been "slimed" by green lighting.

The city icon has lit up every night this week ahead of Friday's event.

Get ready to be sliiiiiimed...

You can catch the event on Nickelodeon at 7pm on Friday night.
