Our Top 5 New TV Dads

With Father's Day this Sunday, some recognition is in order for some of TV's newest dads. So cue up the Cat Stevens, watch these clips, and wish these first-time fathers a happy one! And also make sure you get your own dad a really sweet tie. Happy Father's Day!

Parenthood's Crosby Braverman (Dax Shepard)
Crosby spent the first few years of Jabbar's life totally unaware that the little guy even existed. And while the idea of fatherhood took some getting used to, Crosby's turned into a real stand-up dad.

Dexter's Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall)
Dexter has played house with Rita’s (Julie Benz) kids, Astor and Cody, for three years. But last fall, the Morgans welcomed baby Harrison, their first child together. Let’s hope the young man inherits his mother’s kindness and his father’s... survival skills?

The Office's Jim Halpert (John Krasinski)
We always knew Jim would make a great dad, but actually seeing him with baby Cecilia and Pam (Jenna Fischer) pretty much melted our hearts.

Modern Family's Cameron Tucker (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson)
Cam and Mitchell adopted baby Lily from Vietnam way back in Modern Family's pilot episode, and have been inadvertently Americanizing her ever since.

Glee's Noah "Puck" Puckerman (Mark Salling)
It turns out Puck isn't as self-centered as we thought. He even took the time to memorize the song "Beth" to show Quinn (Dianna Agron) that he wants to be a good daddy to their baby.

Happy Father's Day!

On The Office, has Jim had one single scene with his new child since the delivery? Take him off the list

I usually don't comment but this list is offensive. It seems to be written by someone unable to conceive of an actual parental relationship. A psychopath, a teen and a person who counts his interactions with his new-found son on his toes are the top new TV dads? That is insulting.

Castle is the best example of a father-daughter relationship I have seen in a light comedy. Walter White, in a drama.

What a horrid list you have made.

Are people aware that "new" dad means they JUST had a child? As in have a NEWBORN. Jeez, people complain about how "stupid" the tv.com staff is and then demonstrate their own inability to READ.

Oh my goodness. All you people obviously don't understand the concept behind this list here.

I though "new" dads was an opposition to old dads as...Willy Tanner. Old shows that are not on the air.

This list shows the best TV dads. I am so glad real dads are nothing like them. Have we seen Jim do anything? Can't remember Puck taking responsibility. And a serial killer as best dad? Gotta love society.

Yeah, but Castle isn't a new time dad... And I think that was the idea behind this article. But I absolutely would put him in for all time TV dads. Just the right mix of crazy child together with overprotective parent.
