Paris Hilton sued for slander

Paris Hilton, the oft-beleaguered hotel heiress and reality TV success, is battling her latest demon in the form of a lawsuit from her fiancé's ex-girlfriend.

Zeta Graff, onetime lover to Paris Lastis, has filed a $10 million slander lawsuit against Hilton for causing "vicious lies" to be published in the New York Post. The article in question described a June 1 incident in which Graff and Hilton clashed at a London nightclub. Graff allegedly approached and "attacked" Hilton in an attempt to rip a necklace from the heiress' throat. The $4 million necklace had been loaned to Hilton by Graff Diamonds, a company run by the plaintiff's ex-husband.

According to Graff, the Post story is completely fabricated and contains not "even a scintilla of truth." Graff believes that Hilton is out to get her, and claims that the Simple Life star approached her on the night of the alleged attack with a whispered threat to "destroy" her.

Graff has enlisted the help of several top lawyers, and is confident that she will win the case. She does have a decent legal track record, as she recently won $18 million in a divorce settlement from ex-husband Francois Graff.

Hilton has faced a plethora of legal and other troubles since her infamous sex tape hit the Internet in 2003. Recently, she has avoided theft charges for stealing a copy of the tape from a West Hollywood newsstand, faced the wrath of fellow celebrities after a computer hacker broke into her mobile phone and distributed their contact information, had a public feud with Simple Life costar Nicole Richie, and come under fire from the Parents Television Council for her racy Carl's Jr. hamburger ad.
