Actor Patrick Swayze has checked into the hospital for treatment for pneumonia, reports The Los Angeles Times. The announcement was made at the TCAs in Los Angeles, where Swayze was supposed to be to promote his new show The Beast.
Last year, Swayze revealed he had pancreatic cancer and immediately began treatment to quell the often fatal disease. The pneumonia is believed to be a result of the chemotherapy treatment he has undergone.
"He thanks everybody for the outpouring of support," said Bob DeBitetto, an executive at A&E.; "We hope to see him back on his feet very soon."
Earlier this week, Swayze told Barbara Walters on 20/20 that statistically he has about two more years to live.
The Beast, about a rough-and-gruff FBI agent (Swayze) is due to premiere on January 15.
Get better, Patrick!
