America's A&E; network announced that the show - which received mixed reviews - would not be back for a second series.
But A&E; President Bob DeBitetto heaped praise on Patrick, who is battling pancreatic cancer, calling his performance as a rogue undercover FBI agent "an inspiration to us all".
DeBitetto said the series had "truly been a labour of love for everyone," but added that "after careful deliberation we have reluctantly decided not to attempt a second season".
The Beast was filmed on location in Chicago and premiered in January.
Its audience averaged 1.3 million viewers through the 13 episodes, which concluded their run in April.
Dirty Dancing star Patrick went public with his cancer diagnosis in 2008.
The 56-year-old is set to release a memoir by him and Lisa Niemi, his wife of more 30 years, later this year.
