Showtime's latest drama, The Tudors, has earned a variety of reviews from critics, but it was apparently good enough to draw in one of cinema's most beloved actors.
Peter O'Toole (Lawrence of Arabia, Goodbye, Mr. Chips) has signed on for seven episodes in the second season of the show, reports Variety. O'Toole, at 75 years young, will don a funny hat as Pope Paul III.
The Tudors follows the debaucheries of King Henry VIII of England, played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The series is sometimes compared to HBO's Rome, due to its being a period piece full of shady relationships, violence, and sex.
The final episode of the 10-part first season airs on June 10, with the second season beginning next spring.
