Piper fears son may be 'tormented'

Billie Piper said motherhood has changed
her attitude towards her work

The actress, who has a 15-month-old son named Winston with actor Laurence Fox, told the Radio Times motherhood has changed her attitude towards her work.

Billie, who is about to appear in a third series of the show, said: "I feel like there were the carefree, reckless years when all I had was a boyfriend and I wasn't the face of a family - now I'm a mum, and this time round there were definitely more moments when I questioned what I was doing, whereas before I didn't really give a s**t, it was just a role."

She added: "But now I had to go home and feed my son, and it's a radical shift in your brain from being this provocative, man-eating person by day to this new mum at night.

"I'm all too aware that, one day, he's probably going to be teased about it, tormented even. So there were these moments of: 'Oh my God, what am I doing?'"

The star said she saw a future outside acting altogether.

"It's quite a weird profession and the older I get, the more I think it's not something I could do for ever, because it's so demanding on your time. I'm not sure how conducive it is to good, wholesome family life, and it's not just one of us doing it."

Billie also said Laurence was "surprisingly relaxed" about her filming steamy scenes.

I applaude her for talking about something like this to the press and I hope that how she has acted and how she wants to lead her life now will show other actors/actresses with children who star in the type of show and movie that Ms. Piper stars in to think about their children while deciding what projects they should undertake if they haven't considered such things before.
