It's baaaaaaack. A lot has happened since Pop Up Video left the airwaves in 1998. The music video died. Then this internet thing kind of took off. And then videos found a new home! And then this thing called Twitter caught on, which popularized the use of punchy, informational pulses that magically appear on your screen—and suddenly Pop Up Video seemed like a fresh idea again! So what do you know? VH1 is resurrecting the series, which premieres on October 3 and will air weekdays at 12pm and 12:30pm ET on VH1. Here's a teaser: The annotated version of Britney Spears' "Till the World Ends." Turns out Britney had all her dancers pass a drug test, and fired an extra for talking about making a Number Two. However did we live without Pop-Up Video for this long?

With former music video channels dropping the music videos, there just hasn't been a place for Pop-Up Video on TV. But it really needed some time for enough new music videos to come about. PUV was about to draw from years of videos and just ran out of decent ones to use.
I will literally watch this show just to be able to see music videos on TV again.
