I'm currently typing this from a Portland coffee shop and in line to get wheatgrass lattes right now are a guy on a really tall bicycle wearing a fez, a bearded man in a peacoat made out of actual peas, and two women crocheting a sofa. Weirdotown Portland is ready for IFC's oddball sketch-show Portlandia to come back, and the rest of the world should be too.
Portlandia returns for Season 4 on Thursday, February 27 at 10pm, and Fred and Carrie decided to make the announcement in a very Portlandia way. Via Instagram. Handpressed goldleaf stationery was too hard. (Due to temporary glitches in the Matrix, the below video is not cooperating with our framework, but you'll get the idea.)
The more traditional press release that accompanied the video also gave details on the impressive guest-star list for Season 4, which includes Kristen Wiig, k.d. lang, Vanessa Bayer, Silas Weir Mitchell, Maya Rudolph, Nick Swardson, Olivia Wilde. Ed Begley Jr., Steve Buscemi, Jeff Goldblum, Kumail Nanjani, Jason Sudeikis, Kyle MacLachlan, and musicians Tunde Adebimpe (TV on the Radio), Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys), Joshua Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Duff McKagan (Guns n' Roses), Michael Nesmith (The Monkees), and Jeff Tweedy (Wilco).
You can catch up on Portlandia by watching it on Netflix, going to a craft fair drunk, or smoking a bunch of pot and closing your eyes.
