Practice star Harris tries Heist pilot

Steve Harris, who played attorney Eugene Young on The Practice, will star opposite Dougray Scott in NBC's one-hour pilot Heist.

The ensemble comedy-drama chronicles over the course of a season a group of thieves' attempt to rob simultaneously three jewelry stores on Beverly Hills' famed Rodeo Drive.

Scott plays the mastermind of the operation, with Harris set to play his partner. Also joining the cast are Michelle Hicks and Billy Gardell. Doug Liman (Mr. & Mrs. Smith) will direct the pilot and will serve as an executive producer.

Harris most recently costarred in the breakout hit Diary of a Mad Black Woman and the indie The Unseen, which is making the festival circuit rounds.

Hicks had a recurring role on FX's The Shield, while Gardell's series credits include CBS's Yes, Dear and FX's Lucky.
