Pretty Little Liars, Memphis Beat, and HawthoRNe

What to watch on Tuesday, June 14.

Well, the networks may be taking a summer-long siesta, but cable's got your back, you guys! In addition to the amazing things that've been happening on HBO (*sob*), tonight TNT and ABC Family bust out some of their finest wares. Credit where credit's due!

Pretty Little Liars
Tonight marks the long-awaited return of ABC Family's best show about children committing blackmail and murder. Tune in to see the "fallout" from last season's finale. Get it? Fallout? The bad guy fell out of a church, basically. Anyway, tonight the girls are in therapy because of it.

Memphis Beat
Also returning for a second season are Jason Lee and his weird voice, still fighting crime in Tennessee. Tonight they'll investigate the death of a potentially shady cop, plus an internal-affairs investigator gets all up in everybody's beez.

The Nine Lives of Chloe King
America has spoken and it DEMANDS more shows about teenagers imbued with animal powers. Move over Teen Wolf, here's Catwoman Jr.: When an ordinary 16-year-old girl suddenly dies and reawakens with superpowers, she discovers she's the descendant of a master race of humanoid cats. Or something? Who knows. Teens!

Jada Pinkett Smith is NOT amused. I don't know how relevant that is to this show, but it should be the opening description for anything Jada Pinkett Smith appears in. Anyway, her show about being an unamused nurse returns for a third season tonight, as Nurse Hawthorne's wedding to Tom suffers some setbacks and Candy goes into labor.

SERIES PREMIERE, 10:30pm, Comedy Central
Jon Benjamin Has a Van
This looks great. The erstwhile voice of Sterling Archer of Archer and Bob of Bob's Burgers gets his own live-action vehicle (VEHICLE!) in this here mockumentary-style news show. Tonight Benjamin travels south of the border, where he'll jeopardize his producer's chances of re-entry and submit a report about a dangerous drug lord.

12:37 am, NBC
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
LAURYN HILL, you guys! I don't know about you, but I was a teenager in the 1990s, so Lauryn Hill looms pretty large in my musical heart. True, she's spent most of the time since then being a reclusive, difficult, wealthy bag lady? Not sure. But it's still cause for celebration to see her on the television again. And performing alongside The Roots?! Holy moly. Is a new album too much to ask for? Probably.
