...Remember little Scottish gnome-lady Susan Boyle, the curious wee old creature who stole the world's hearts and scurried away with them back to her glen? Well, the TV Guide channel sure hopes you do. They've got plans to air I Dreamed a Dream: The Susan Boyle Story, a one-hour special about the Britain's Got Talent contestant turned international YouTube sensation. It'll feature Boyle opening that peculiar sound-hole of hers and singing songs from her new album. We'll be so dazzled by her sonorous voice that we won't notice her stealing our children to put in her Sunday stew. [THR]
...Psych, the USA network's popular show about quirky people, has been renewed for a fifth season. That makes it the cabler's longest-running series currently on air. Wait, does that mean they canceled Pacific Blue? Why didn't anyone tell me??? [Variety]
...It's a Thanksgiving miracle, just like the Maccabees had, one million years ago this Thursday. Singer turned mutton-faced TV personality Nick Lachey will once again grace our airwaves, for four crazy nights. He'll be hosting The Sing-Off, a competition series about people singing a cappella for a shot at $100,000 and a record contract. Sounds reasonable enough. You know what's not reasonable? One of the judges is Ben Folds. Srsly, Ben?? Didja know Lachey was gonna be involved when you signed up? [THR]
...If one of you Twi-twinkers or whatever they call you Twilight fans is just jonesing to watch that movie but were too cheap to buy the DVD, then FX is the network for you. They just purchased broadcast rights to all four of the movies in the series, two of which aren't even out yet. That's commitment! Commitment like Edvard has to Becka! Or whatever! [Variety]
...Rumors of Drea De Matteo's death have been greatly exaggerated. [EW]

No, it doesn't mean Psych is the longest running series ever on USA (as The Dead Zone would beat it). Iy is saying that Psych is the longest series currently on USA's line-up, since Monk is in its final season.
Monk did not start out on USA, it lasted a few seasons on NBC before it moved. I think what they meant is that Psych is the longest-running original series USA has.
Seriously the title of this article scared me for a minute. I love Pysch!
I love Psych, it's one of my favorite shows. I'm very happy right now.
Well, I've loved Psych. In my opinion its been getting better, but that's just me. I loved the Bollywood ep and the werewolf one. I'm sad to see Monk leaving too.
Monk doesn't count since it's already canceled. Honestly, I'm surprised Monk lasted this long (then again, Stargate made 10 seasons as well) since most episodes were downright awful. Last few Psych episodes were also pretty terrible, although the early season was pretty amazing and the episode where Shawn gets shot was great. Burn Notice has been half-decent and Royal Pains is kinda fun. The only real disappointment on USA atm is White Collar, which I was really looking forward to and got kicked in the teeth.
Phsch isn't the longest running cable show Monk is (its just wrapping up its 8th and final season)PS gmx13 i agree that some seasons of psych were not up to par
I love Psych but the past couple seasons where just so-so. I hope they start improving.
Maybe I'm dense, but I don't think Richard said anything particularly mean about Susan Boyle. I mean, she is a gnome, right? I mean, gnomes do exist, right? RIGHT!?
to VConn - i hope you're right. Breaking Dawn was absolute crap and while I read the first three books in three days, I never even finished BD. I hope Eclipse ends it. Preferably without showing Jacob as a pedo.
yeahhh 5th season for psych, but when does this series come back on?
glad its renewed its an awesome show. and wow i can't believe its been that long already. it feels like it was just 2 years ago that it first came out. as for twilight their isn't really a official name for them besides morons.
I love Psych! It's the only show that makes my father look "normal"!
I am a twilight fan and as far as I know SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT and the other PTB's are royally screwing us and not making Breaking Dawn(Book 4) into a movie, I didn't want to believe that but after seeing NEW MOON I'm positive it'll never get made and ECLIPSE will just be a condensed version of books 3 & 4 which will suck.
Dear TV.com:Don't ever do that ever again.-Willy105
So not cool, Dick. You made me gasp with your April fools-like headline. Cancellations aren't a joking matter, Mr!
I'd have to go back and read your articles to see how many other people you have cruelly and needlessly skewered. I don't have the stomach for it.
umm how was the headline misleadinng when it clearly said "Sike" at the end? hello people do you not know what that means? lol
That was a very cruel misleading title, but Iam glad Pysch will be around for another season:D
The Psych thing so wasn't funny lol my heart is racing!
;o)
Not gonna lie... really surprised Psych has lasted so long.
Nice misleading headline...
@IndianaMom -- Oh now I'm curious, Indiana. What are the other reasons??
GOOD GOD Richard, you scared the bejesus out of me. Don't ever joke about something like that again, please.
I hate twilight so much.
I was hoping it was the Hollywood Reporter that said such unkind things about Susan Boyle, but no. Yet another in a long list of reasons not to read anything written by Richard Lawson.
Almost got a heart attack too. I am so glad it got renewed...
I had a seizure when I saw that headline. YAY for Psych!!!!!!!
I almost punched my computer screen when I read the first half of that headline. It good that it got renewed.
Almost gave me a heart attack with that headline...
I believe he was making a crack at how ugly she is?
I'm not at all a fan of Susan Boyle as a singer, but describing a women who suffers with depression as a gnome lady and making cracks about stealing children to put in a stew, that's low. Not funny at all just really mean and uncalled for.
Good news about PSYCH
