Seattle Grace Hospital will be getting a new face next season.
After a trying few months, Australian actress and Matthew Newton's ex-girlfriend Rachael Taylor has secured herself a role in several episodes of Grey's Anatomy in the seventh season.
As of late, Rachael's new role in the American medical drama isn't all she's been working on. She has established herself in the US as a film actress and will appear in four films, all slated for release within the next year, including the Russian thriller The Darkest Hour.
In the US, Rachael is best known for her role as Maggie in Transformers, when she became a firm favourite among fan boys, and Shutter where she acted alongside Joshua Jackson.
It is expected that Rachael will join the series mid-season and will feature in a short story arc, although it's not yet clear if she will portray a doctor or a patient in the storyline.
Grey's Anatomy season seven premieres in the US on September 23.
