Ratings: CSI overtakes Grey's

The Battle of Thursday Night remains lively.

ABC's Grey's Anatomy beat CBS's CSI in the ratings, 8.5 to 6.8 in the 18 to 49 demo, but the crime drama pulled in more viewers. Grey's was watched by 20.6 million viewers while CSI was watched by 20.8 million, according to Nielsen overnights.

Survivor: Cook Islands also dominated its time period against solid ABC comedy Ugly Betty, and the James Woods lawyer drama Shark posted a week-to-week increase in viewers, from 13.3 million to 13.6 million.

At 8 p.m., Survivor came out with a 4.9, with Ugly Betty at a 4.1. NBC scored a combined 3.8 for My Name Is Earl and The Office, while The CW saw a 1.9 for Smallville. Fox earned a combined 1.8 for one new and one rerun episode of 'Til Death.

At 9 p.m., Grey's took its 8.5, with CSI at 6.8. NBC's Deal or No Deal scored a 3.8, and Fox's The O.C. landed with a 1.8. CW's Supernatural scared up a 1.4.

At 10 p.m., ER took the lead on NBC with a 5.8, Shark bit a 3.9, and ABC's repeat of Desperate Housewives (replacing the MIA Six Degrees) earned a 3.7.

Overall, ABC earned a 5.5 rating/14 share in 18-49s, with 14.1 million total viewers; CBS, 5.2/14, 16.2 million; NBC, 4.5/12, NBC, 11.5 million; Fox, 1.7/4, Fox, 4.2 million; The CW, 1.6/4, 3.8 million.
