Ratings: Viewers don't seek Identity

NBC's newest game show, the Penn Jillette-hosted Identity, fell 25 percent Tuesday night from its debut Monday night. The show scored a 2.9 rating/8 share in adults 18-49 and averaged 8.2 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen overnights.

On Monday, Identity notched a 4.4/11 in 18-49s and 12.3 million viewers overall. The Monday episode benefitted from its powerful lead-in, Deal or No Deal.

At 8 p.m., NBC scored a 2.9 in 18-49s for Identity. ABC earned a 2.8 for I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown, and Fox notched a 2.6 for a repeat of House. CBS earned a 2.5 for a repeat of NCIS, and CW scored a 1.0 for a repeat of Gilmore Girls.

At 9 p.m., Fox scored a 3.8 for a second Houserepeat. NBC earned a 2.6 a Law & Order: Criminal Intent rerun, while CBS managed a 2.5 for a repeat of The Unit. ABC scored a combined 1.7 for two episodes of Big Day. CW earned a 1.2 for a repeat of Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

At 10 p.m., NBC took a 2.7 Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. CBS earned a 2.6 for a repeat of CSI: NY, and scored a 1.5 for a Boston Legal repeat.

Overall, Fox took a 3.2 rating/9 share in 18-49s, with 8.5 million total average viewers; NBC, 2.7/8, 8.3 million; CBS, 2.5/7, 9.4 million; ABC, 2.0/6, 6.2 million; CW, 1.1/3, 2.6 million.
