Reaper return reported

High on our list of last year's best new shows, the CW's Reaper nearly made us renounce our faith in Satan when the show was in danger of being canceled. But The CW came to its senses and saved Reaper's soul by renewing the program for a second season at the last second, allowing the TV.com offices to let out a collective sigh of relief. And now we know when we can see more...

The CW has scheduled the premiere of Reaper's second season for Tuesday nights beginning March 17. The 13-episode season (which could be extended) will be paired with one of the network's most popular shows, 90210. The last episode of Reaper aired in late May.

And while some will argue that the pairing doesn't quite make sense, it's the belief of this writer that Reaper just needs to be seen to be loved and hope is being held for it to flourish in that time slot.

Reaper stars Bret Harrison as a 20-something guy who reluctantly works as a bounty hunter for the Devil after his parents sell his soul. The supernatural-tinged mix of comedy and drama also stars Ray Wise, Tyler Labine, and Missy Peregrym.

The CW also reiterated the return dates of the rest of its lineup after a December hibernation. Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill come back with all new episodes January 5, 90210 and Privileged do the same on January 6, and Smallville and Supernatural return with new segs January 15.

Also announced was the premiere of 13 - Fear is Real on January 7. The reality competition program throws a baker's dozen people into a house and scares them out one by one.

It's been a long time, but Reaper is finally coming back! Are you as excited as we are?

man i hope people actually watch this show this time around. I really really want it to succeed. true tho it will make it difficult to watch House, Fringe, and Reaper all on Tuesday nights...

The show was completely idiotic and not at all funny. IT WAS STUPID. I hated it and think it is a waste of time and money. Of course if you are a fan of all of the other moronic shows and movies, that are so unjustly popular right now, then you will be thrilled to death.

Great stuff, love Reaper. Also think coupling it with 90210 is a good move....I don't watch it but lots of people do.

I didn't get into this show last season, but since it is coming back I'm tempted to give it a better chance. Coupling it with 90210 seems odd, but this is the CW, little makes sense.

This show was so funny. I loved the facial expressions on Sam and Sock whenever anything goofy happened. Cant wait for the fun to begin again. Hells escapees will be partying hard until March 09 and then its back to hell in a weird, yet somehow logical, recipticle.

Yessss. I can't wait for the Reaper return on St Patrick's Day. Now it just seems funny that CW originally said Reaper was going to be a mid-season replacement for Smallville during 2009.

I can say goodbye to Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone. Both are hard to let go, especially Stone, but I can enjoy TV without them. But don't mess with Chuck and don't mess with Reaper.

This is the sort of thing that killed the Clerks cartoon. Why does network television hate Kevin Smith?
Reply
Flag
The longer they leave Reaper to come back the more likely viewing ratings will decline and end of like ABC's Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money! March?? I too was hoping for a January slot! This is not good!
Reply
Flag
March?! Dude! I was hoping for a return in January. Ugggh! These 3 months of anguish is going to kill me!
