Leah Remini of The King of Queens will star in a new Web series about motherhood that will incorporate consumer-generated stories from moms into each episode.
Created by branding firm Mindshare Entertainment, In the Motherhood will premiere on MSN on May 11 at inthemotherhood.com. The five-episode series profiles the "ever-hectic but always humorous" lives of three mom girlfriends.
Hollywood screenwriters will develop the characters and storylines for each episode of Motherhood, based on the real-life stories submitted over the Internet and voted on by the online community. Visitors to the site will nominate the best entries on such topics as your child's worst public meltdown, funniest potty training story, and the funniest child-rearing advice from your mother-in-law.
In addition to MSN, the webisodes can be viewed on the Web sites of sponsors Suave and Sprint. On broadcast TV, Motherhood will be publicized, and clips or whole episodes--which run about five minutes long--will air on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, whose host will call on moms to submit their real-life stories and to vote on the best entries.
Remini, who stars in the show, is best known for her role as Carrie Heffernan in CBS's comedy series The King of Queens, which ends its nine-year run this year.
