Report: Charlie Sheen Will Reveal He's HIV-Positive on Tuesday's Today Show

Charlie Sheen will make a "revealing personal announcement" during an interview with Matt Lauer on Tuesday's Today show, NBC announced Monday. According to several reports, the revelation is going to be that the Two and a Half Men alum is HIV-positive.

TMZ, citing sources from the Today show, reports that Sheen plans to discuss his "HIV status" in the wake of a report National Enquirer that he has kept his HIV-positive diagnosis a secret for four years.

Sheen, 50, once claimed he slept with more than 5,000 women, according to the Enquirer, which spoke to several of Sheen's exes, including Brooke Mueller, his ex-wife and the mother of his children. At least four sources told the Enquirer that the actor exposed them to HIV and paid them in exchange for their silence.

The Enquirer, which claims to have first confronted Sheen about the allegations in 2014, says his medical outlook is positive. A number of Sheen's former lovers have reportedly filed lawsuits against him for failing to disclose his status.

Sheen's interview with Matt Lauer will air live on Tuesday's Today show.

First off no one deserves HIV. It's a disease. Anyone who says otherwise you are what is wrong and you are what keeps people from getting treated. Fear of being found out and judged and yes blackmailed. If Charlie Sheen has unprotected sex and didn't tell his partner that is on him but anyone who blackmailed and extorted money from him because he wanted to keep his status "secret" that is on them.

Having a lifestyle with partying, sex, and drugs. It's no wonder Charlie Sheen contracted AIDS. Good thing I will be at work when he's on the Today Show. And seriously, is this really important news? What about Isis, and the Paris terrorist attacks?

HIV doesn't equal aids, aids is when you have HIV - Stage 3 and that occures after 10 -15 years with HIV left untreaded and with the normal treadment which charlie sheen can afford 1-2 pills a day he can live normal life with the same life expectancy as without HIV

For a man who had sex with 5000 women, most during the 80s and 90s (the height of the AIDS epidemic in America) how could this NOT be the logical conclusion? The man's had more partners than most male porn stars, and even the porn industry have FAR more safety procedures than he has.

Honestly, I'm shocked he's even still alive. I mean, he used to order suitcases of cocaine for crying out loud. He's had so many chances since his arrest in the 90s and first successful comeback (replacing MJFox on Spin City). He's not gonna change and his history of violence should have landed him in jail for good. It's not talked about as much but it stretches all the way back to Kelly Preston in the late 80s. It's a wonder this person hasn't killed anyone.

HIV for a rich person? I'm not sure it means too much now a days if you have the money to deal with it. It's not a death sentence (still wouldn't wish it on anyone). But it sucks for anyone who might have contracted it unknowingly.

This is both shocking yet unsurprising. He's looked positively terrible the last year or so, and boasted about promiscuity. Yet he's a big enough star that one would think there'd be someone to step in and stop him from making that level of mistake.

If he really knew he had HIV and failed to disclose to his partners, he is an even lower scumbag than his public persona suggests and deserves criminal charges.

Apparently, it's been a known fact in the industry since at least last year, reference to it was even found in an April 2014 email from the Sony leak, written by the person who is now the Chairman of Sony Pictures Television no less.

I wonder if his blow-up that got him kicked off his own show had anything to do with this diagnosis. Maybe the running joke about his character having a myriad of STDs finally hit a little too close to home.

Also gotta wonder what it's like to be a doctor to celebrities and privy to their undisclosed conditions. How do they get embarrassing prescriptions filled without word getting out? Maybe they get STD meds and antidepressants the same way they get unprescribed painkillers.

Explain why we give him any air time? He's an idiot & has been for years. Feel for his children & any women involved but otherwise he is a trainwreck! He never seems to take any responsibility for his actions. A PR stunt to get more attention we shouldn't be giving him unless he is apologising publicly to the women he slept with & ruined their lives.

Aids Cover up? That headline is a little tendentious. The reveal that is not a reveal. They can write eight pages about that? The writer should demand a raise. He also slept with men (A-list actors) apparently which may or may not mean he's bisexual. USE A CONDOM DAMN IT or be a (serial) monogamist like most people.
I liked him better when he was on drugs.

How is that headline skewed in any way? The story is that Sheen knowingly exposed sexual partners to HIV without informing them of that risk, and then paid a few them off to cover up his misdeeds.

that's what i call Charlie Sheen and any guy who has slept with this many women. it was only a matter of time before he got aides.

First off, nobody deserves to get HIV in any way, that's callous and grotesque.

Secondly, lots of people have sex with strangers for far less interesting reasons than fame - fame at least suggests a compelling, talented person. "Attractive body parts" is often a significant reason why men sleep with women they don't know, yet we treat that as normal. I'm not advocating sleeping with a celebrity simply for their celebrity, but they don't deserve shaming, they aren't doing anything wrong more than anybody out for casual sex.

It is not often "casual" with these people, it is carefully planned. They set their aim on somebody famous. sometimes ANYBODY famous, like if they could not get THAT guy they then settle for somebody less famous. You don't just "casually" bump into Charlie Sheen at some random place and thinks he has attractive body parts. No, you carefully go to all special parties and events where he goes, and whore yourself out to him. For free. JUST because he is famous. NO other reason. And you KNOW he will not settle down with you, or even have a short relationship. You know it will be just sex.

If most regular people suggested something like that to random women, (hey whatabout a quickie with this random guy you just met!) they would take OFFENSE that you even assumed they would be up for that. You would be a sexist misogynist, maybe a rapist even. Then they go do it themself, voluntarily. They deserve HIV for that hypocrisy alone. You know there are even lots of women who throws themself over SERIAL KILLERS? Insane psychopath massmurderers? Just because they are famous. Men probably also do these things, but it is different with men because i doubt they succeed as much with it.

Yeah maybe you are right, i am not sure i think this is about being stupid though. It is much too carefully planned for just being stupid and it is hypocritical behaviour, because not only is it often with people they would never had sex with if they were not famous, but also if non-famous people wanted to do something similar with them, they would take offense.

I don't want to sound unsympathetic to Charlie Sheen nor to the NCIS actress who got attacked the other day but I am not sure at all why these type of events get covered here since they are not related to the type of TV Show news that TV.com covers normally... Both are sad events but they're more celeb news than TV.com news...

It was very expensive after that dude bought a medicine company, that made the medicine (Daraprim) that worked against Aids. He increased the price with 5000% from 13$ to 700$ a pill. But now another company have made something that works and made the price under 10$ for the pill, so that douchebag had to lover his price again.
