Maybe the Terminator won't be back.
The small-screen arm of the Terminator franchise, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, is on the chopping block, according to the funny-spelled Web site SyFyPortal.com.

Terminator hasn't exactly been kicking behind in the ratings department this season, and apparently Fox is ready to pull the plug on the cyborgs. SyFy Portal quotes the ever-present inside source as saying that Fox is very bummed about the numbers. Terminator is drawing crowds of less than 6 million and averaging a 3.7 rating, good for third place in the crowded Monday-night battleground (fourth place if you count ESPN's Monday Night Football).
"Audiences just aren't responding to the show," says the Fox mole. "Our biggest surprise are the 18-to-49s [numbers], those numbers are in the toilet."
Requests for comment from Fox went unanswered as of press time. [UPDATE] Fox reps responded with the following to TV.com: "The rumors are all speculative and were never fact checked with the network or studio."
Fox suits are also worried that Terminator's Monday-night buddy, Prison Break, is also feeling the pain of Terminator's low numbers. Apparently Fox doesn't think viewers know how to change channels over the course of an evening.
Just over a week ago, EW.com also reported that Terminator was on the ropes, with a more likely reason than that audiences are simply not responding to the show. "We're up against Monday Night Football," Terminator star Thomas Dekker told the site. "Which is tricky because we have a lot of football fans."
Monday night is also home to Dancing With the Stars, Chuck, Gossip Girl, and Heroes. In short, it's a bloodbath, with men tuning in to football and ladies checking out Dancing. Perhaps a move to another night could save Terminator?

Well if Fox drops Terminator that will TERMINATE my last reason to watch the network. No I don't care about Idol idiots, but I do care about the dwindling number of good SciFi shows. Terminator is one of those shows. It will be a sad day when I have to Terminate Fox from my TV.
if fox cancels this show, that'll just be sad. they actually managed to have something good and morally/emotionally thought provoking (how many other shows deal with moral dilemma and time paradox at once?) and it lasted past a season, the two other relatively recent Fox shows that tried to make examining the human condition a focus never made it that far (Firefly and Standoff; the 2 best shows Fox ever shafted). On that note I am happy to see Joss's most recent show is just awesome, Fox shouldn't cancel either of these great shows.
I don't want it canceled, but I don't know that Fox is the network to helm it. The show could be a bit more gritty and less family friendly, as this is some heavy stuff for the characters to deal with. The show has done well enough to show some of the misery, pain, and hopelessness of it all while still mixing in that nothing has happened yet and the world still has it's day to day ignorance is bliss, but on maybe an HBO or SciFi, with some more actions with ramifications and people swearing where they should, crying when its traumatic-ly correct, and less plotholes, this show could be around for several more seasons, and hopefully break away from the IMO not so good 3rd movie in the franchise.moreless
i think if you guys chancle this show you suck you guys dont know a good tv show from a stupied and bad one please dont cut this show like you guys did with the black donnellys that was an awsome show and it was even better cause it was true and you guys cancled it so please at least keep this one on till there done you dont get to see alot of shows out there anymore were the women are kicking the ass they usually have to get rescued our something and thats another reason why this show is the bomb cause the women are kicking ass
Please, PLEASE, do not cancel the show! Poor ratings are what caused shows like Farscape to be dropped. Some shows cater to the intelligent and quality-based fan base. Other shows cater to the low quality, high budget shows that are written by a formula and, basically, the same every week. This is a quality show that will be sorely missed once it has gone. Don't just go by ratings, go by the fan base. The die-hards will always be there to support the good shows, even if they are in the unfortunate minority. Even if it has been picked up for another season, please keep the positive reinforcement coming, or else, we'll lose another great show that makes us think, and hopefully replaces a show that just lets us vegge out for an hour thinking of something else while we're barely watching. This is my absolute favorite show on all television. Honestly, I cannot stand when good shows get removed before they have a chance to excel. If Fox cancels this show, I will never watch that channel again... ever!It's not a threat, just stating my opinion. I'm tired of this channel always cutting the best programming.
Fox has picked up "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" for a full season! So, stop fretting, enjoy the show and start spreading positive reenforcement for a change.

There are to many reality tv shows to compete with these days. Good tv is becoming a thing of the past. FOX has fallen into the trend of crap tv and reality programs. Because of reality tv shows like this will continue to die before they even have a chance. This is another reason that I hardly watch normal tv anymore and stick to my movie channels. At least there it's not all reality tv, although they have been making to many based on true stories latley and horrible chick flicks that even my wife can't stomach.
iv had enough of fox. there is just no point getting into any of there programs because they axe them way too early.
Of course it will get cancelled. It is not a reality TV program so FOX has no idea how to market the show plus it is up against Monday Night Football and Heroes which share the same target demographic. I guess I shold be happy the show lasted as long as it did. I guess FOX is learning not to put quality programming on on a Friday night where it is sure to die a quick and painful death. Yes I am STILL bitter about Firefly and Dark Angel...

According to TVGuide, Fox has just ordered 2 more scripts. Doesn't sound like scrapping the show to me.
Please no! I love this show. I'm hoping that the release of the new Terminator movie will generate enough interest in the show. I've been trying to make people watch this but if they haven't watched the Terminator movies, they don't have any interest.
Thats a shame. This show has improved quite a bit in the new season. I actually like the show a lot. I hope it can at least finish out this season and do it weel.
I read this article a while ago, and I really hope it just rumour although common sense tells me even if that were the case T:SCC is probably going to get cancelled anyway. What I cannot fathom is Fox not waiting until Terminator 4 comes out in the cinema, surely this would boost ratings for the show somewhat?
No one has even said anything about the amount of viewers who are watching WWE wrestling. There is a huge fan base for the wrestling that takes away from the Monday night shows also, its not just football and baseball taking away people. They also should get credit if a show is recorded, you can't watch everything you want at one time.
Suits are idiots. I don't watch this show, but the idea that the show should be doing better when pitted against that type of competition is ridiculous. Switch days and be done with it. If ratings are all the network cares about, plug a new reality TV show into the Monday lineup. I wouldn't watch it, but millions would.

T:SCC has been a consistently entertaining and clever show. One of the few breaths of fresh air in a network tv landscape scattered with cop procedurals and hospital dramas. I like the show and I would be pissed off if Fox pulls the plug on this one.
aww Fox hates this show and I have no idea why. Its really sad though. They should move Til Death to Mondays and pair this with Bones. Til Death's rating are already crappy, so why not give Terminator a chance and just kill Til Death which no one is watching.
This is very sad news - I think that this show is one of the better ones out there. It did so great as a mid-season show; perhaps it should be that again. But the show continues to be very strongly acted and scripted in my book. I don't want it to disappear.
I watch the show and it's alright. The first season didn't live up to it's potential really but i shall give the second a chance

this show actually has a pretty gripping story. i always find myself wanting to know what is happening next. i'll be sad if it is cancelled. if moving it to a new night would help then they totally should give it a chance

This is a great show. Much better than some of the other shows out there. For this show to be canceled would be a big mistake. Just put it in a different time slot or advertise the show some more, so many good shows are canceled because the networks are too lazy to do anything except for push the cancel button built into their leather chairs.
Is fox forgetting that there is a Terminator movie coming out in May? The movie would help out the show's ratings and the show would help bring people to the theaters. Wake up fox.
It looks like they did cancel Terminator as well as Prison Break. My Tivo has 0 showings for the next two weeks. *sighs* I hate reality shows, so if Fox runs with those, they lose me as a viewer, period. Ya, I know that tv counts on television ads, but I think their system for seeing what is popular is very antiquated to say the least. Shame on you Fox, for removing two dynamic shows!

Geez, yeah, please try moving the show before you just cancel it, Fox! I admit my TiVo tuners are all busy doing other things on Monday nights, but I have been watching the show online faithfully. I wish they would move it, or do one of those partner things where they air the new episode again (on another channel, if necessary) later the same week. It's a great show -- give it a fair shake before you cancel it!
