Revolution's Tracy Spiridakos Will Play an FBI Agent in a Fox Show

It's been far too long since we've seen Charlie Matheson from Revolution on our television screens (unless you watch Episodes or Bates Motel, which I don't). Tracy Spiridakos, who played the badass—and, later in the series' run, incredibly grumpy—heroine of NBC's maligned power-outage drama, might be returning to network television.

According to Deadline, Spiridakos has landed the lead role in a Fox drama about, WHAT ELSE, an FBI agent (though no one would blame you if you said a cop or police consultant). Recon comes from the minds who brought you The Vampire Diaries, Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, and I feel like I should also say it comes from the minds who also brought you The Following and the upcoming now-limited event series Containment for a little universal balance. Spiridakos' agent will infiltrate a suspected terrorist family, whose patriarch (Game of Thrones' Alexander Siddig) has no idea he's under surveillance.

Is this casting the BEST or what?

You watch your Episodes-hate, Tim! Remember, I'm a TV.com reader/viewer/addict. What if I hate myself so much that I take my reading skills over to the - ...nah. Just kidding. I could never break up with you!

When did TV.com (and Tim in particular) start to stan for Tracy/Revolution so bad? I only watched the first season so clearly I missed something, but I remember that every single episode review for it was basically an exercise in hate-watching.

As is evident by many of the negative comments below, Tracy Spiridakos' character on "Revolution" was not universally popular. Indeed I went to the "Revolution" panels at Comic-ConSD a couple of years running, and people in the audience were saying to each other that "Charlie" was a spoilt brat and annoying.

The good news with this casting is that Tracy has the opportunity (as she had on Bates Motel) to create a new character that viewers may like. The team behind this new series tends to go for gore and gross-out visuals (yes, I mean you "The Following" and "Stalker"); so this show will definitely be more hardcore.

Bottom line: I wish Tracy. Spiridakos good luck in her new show.

as long as she gets punched in the face a lot then i'll watch. I don't know how he'd fake being a terrorist though, she can't show any emotion, expression, or excitement about anything. She's always just dead in the face.

Borrrringg. Her character on Revolution was far too irksome. If this had some kind of USP I might've been in.

Every new TV show in USA is about.... an FBI agent doing this or that.
So very creative.

TV continues it's tradition to cast sexy young people as high ranking law enforcement officers, positions usually reserved for fifty year olds that are too stressed and have too little time to look the lease bit attractive. The bald heads, beer guts, and dark rings aorund their eyes accompanying many of them are nowhere to be seen.

Coming up next on Fox: The Silence of the Lamb remake.

Sounds interesting. I'd watch it for Tracy Spiridakos at least.

I can't work out if this is tongue in cheek or not. Boring premise for a show and terrible actress so I'm hoping we were supposed to laugh.

So do Fox/tv in general have a quota for cop shows one out (Minority Report) one in?

I expect they're planning (depending on lawsuits) a show about a 'science guy' working with a law enforcement woman.

I get it. A CSI kind of show.

Science and law enforcement go hand-in-hand.

I've actually got a meeting tomorrow with Fox. I'm pitching a show about a Meter Maid and a Cop dealing in the hard world of parking infringements on the Hollywood Boulevard.
