Watch the First Trailer for Cameron Crowe's Music Drama Roadies (VIDEO)

Just two days before the premiere of Vinyl, HBO's auteur-driven series about the music industry, comes the first trailer for Showtime's rival auteur-driven series about the music industry, Roadies.

Roadies was created, written, directed and executive produced by Cameron Crowe, who previously tread similar territory with his classic rock comedy Almost Famous. This is the film director's first TV series, and it follows the lives of a road crew for a band called the Staton-House Band.

The hourlong comedy stars Luke Wilson and Carla Gugino, with a supporting cast including Imogen PootsKeisha Castle-Hughes, and Ron White. It counts J.J. Abrams and Winnie Holzman (My So-Called Life) as executive producers.

Here's the trailer.

Roadies premieres Sunday, June 26th at 10pm on Showtime.

If this show includes a Mark Kozelek cameo then I could be tempted to watch...

This could be good because of Cameron Crowe. He lived the life of a roadie as a young journalist, but Abrams? Does he have to be involved with everything these days? I may give it a try later--too many shows that I can't keep up with now so this one will have to wait.

This is the first I've heard of this but it looks pretty good. I loved Almost Famous so I'll give this show a shot.
