Throwing four hormonally-charged, fresh-out-of-college kids together in an apartment in New York City can be fun, but it can also be disastrous...even on television. ABC Family was hoping for the former with its new show Roommates, but instead the show is packing its bags and moving out.
ABC Family has canceled Roommates after only six episodes, says The Hollywood Reporter. The network will air the final four episodes of the show in a mini-marathon next Monday.
Roommates was the latest attempt by ABC Family to push towards an older audience by stepping out of the teen demographic. Star Tamera Mowry told TV.com that the tone was more along the lines of ABC Family's hit Greek, which targets older teens and younger adults.

This show is really funny. Certain characters and events have similarities with others shows though like "Friends", "Two and Half Men", and "How I Met You Mother" but the mixture came out really well. Too bad they got evicted... Crap!
Never watched it, but that's what ABC Family gets when they put it up against 24 and Heroes two way better and established shows.
This show was actually pretty funny. I had a feeling it wouldn't last long though. I really wanted it to success though. Sophie is a terrible show tho and then this summer they have some gymnastics show premiering which will probably tank as well. I guess I only have my Greek until Lincoln Heights returns!!

Dang it! Just when I was starting to fall in love with this show. That's really too bad...I'll miss it terribly. Though I can understand why ABC Family would have to make that decision. :(

I hoped it would be good. But it ended up being pretty bad. So I wont miss it.
I didn't care for it, it was too goofy. I thought Kyle XY was a MUCH better show. I miss Kyle!

I've heards and see about this show when I've watched Greek. It seemed good but if they cancelled it I wouldn't even waste my time on it.

I will. The show started growing on me. I hated it at first but kept watching in the hopes that it would get better and it has started to. I don't think ABC Family should judge how well it's doing off of only 6 episodes. Give it a second season, promote more and hope for the best. If it still does bad then cancel it.
I never really cared for Roommates. I just watched it because it was on. I could barely remember the characters' names.

a push towards adult viewers???????? kyle xy had an audience range from 8-80!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why fix what isn't broken?
Never watch it honestly im not watching "new" showi anymore for fear to get cancelled get my point? For what? To start following the story and then stay put when its cancalled without explination? No thanks i prefer tv show like Smallville & Supernatural that are ending (one season to go!!)

What can ABCF expect when they go from quality shows like Kyle XY to shows with recycled premises (Friends anyone). The campaign to bring Kyle XY closure is still going on and will continue on until this injustice is corrected.
I saw the pilot episode and wasn't impressed. There was nothing about it that kept the audience coming back for more.
abcfamily never should have cancelled kyle xy! especially not if they thought these shows would actually get viewers!!!!!!!!!!!!
