Rumor: Heroes cast member wants out

Is it you, Masi?

In front of the camera and on the red carpet television actors are all smiles, hugs, and "what up, girl!" But of course these thespians we put on a pedestal also happen to be human beings (well, most of them anyway), which means behind the scenes, hair is flying, tantrums are thrown, and feelings are crushed.

Ensemble casts seem to spawn this sort of behavior the most, as actors jockey for screen time and are expected to remain on par with their "peers." According to E! Online, the ensemble cast currently feeling the heat is NBC's Heroes, and word is one of its major stars wants OUT.

The article--which is served as a "blind item"--doesn't name the actor or actress that is asking to leave the show, but does mention some juicy details for the person's wanting to leave. The star, apparently upset with not getting enough screen time, is asking to be let go of his/her contract at the end of the season. And to allow for that possibility, a death scene has been written for the actor's character at the conclusion of the season.

Other details to get your wheels spinning: the actor has been on the program from season one, "has more name recognition than others in the cast" (probably the most important clue), and could easily be revived from an end-of-season death if he/she stays on Heroes (just like every other character in the show, am I right, am I right?).

Is it Hayden? Ali? Masi? They're all season one veterans, all have some bigger name recognition, and can easily come back to life through regeneration, finding a new twin, or time-travel. Let's hear your guesses below!

They also promised Future Peter and Future Claire to be full fledged characters and that didn't happen.

It's either Ali or Masi. It's not like the rest of the main cast to quit. Really I wanted them to KEEP Nikki. This Tracy character is some bipolar wench who forgot about killing a reporter abruptly. Adam Monroe dies abruptly, the phantom guy is abruptly taken out of existence, Daphne's did NOT have cerebral palsi in episode 3, and as much as season 3 is slightly better than season 2, nothing makes sense and there are good reasons to quit the show, but it's unlikely for most of them. And Tracy her pearls are gross.

Heroes has moved away from being about just one character, and if the story telling can rise to the occasion, can and could weather the departure of anyone in the series except possibly Peter, being an ensemble cast as is. It might be a necessary shakeup as there have been, IMO, problems with the last season's dealing with the ensemble, too thin to still tell a tight and involving story. To speculate on a departure, I'd think Ali Larder, who's Nikki character was 'messed' up by dying and her role switched to a new 'sibling', as I miss the development of the Nikki/Jessica persona, and the new isn't fleshed out and not the 'mystery' I was looking for in the season, plus ejecting Micah/family. Traci Strauss feels more like a time-line anomaly as written, out-of-the-blue, conveniently there now that Nikki is dead, readily accepted yet not emotionally attachable to the core players, again IMO.moreless

I *loathe* blind items. They can say anything they want about anyone with impunity. Give us a name or shut up.

I'd say the biggest stars are probably Masi, Ali, Hayden and Milo. Ali is probably the only one not getting that much face time and I'm fine with her leaving. I've not really gotten into any of her characters on the show. I think the other 3 are still getting enough time.As for the show, I agree, it seems like the show has two writing crews. It seems they either have some really engaging episodes or they're completely flat and it unfortunately those last for weeks at a time before more something more meaty is thrown out.I personally don't think the story is a rip off of X-Men either. To put together a few pieces that are similar and call them the same isn't accurate. If it were remotely close, Stan Lee would be all over them rather than supporting the show.moreless

I think that if heroes loss a character it will affect the show but if it is not peter,Claire or hero then I will still enjoy the show. And nothing will affected

Yeah I agree, Ali Larter sounds probable. As for as stories about super-powered beings go, "there is nothing new under the sun" so for me it's not about originality, it is about how the story is told.Heroes: Fugitives is poised for a great story-telling experience and I have faith that Tom Kring's writers will deliver. For all you originality critics, between Marvel and DC comics all marketable powers have been exhausted thus I believe developing characters who happen to have powers is the winning approach to Heroes. Come on Tom Kring and company, give us the story-telling that we missed from first season. Oh and I love the current Sylar...evil is good ^_^

hey...here's an idea, lose ali "olive oyle" larter,,,,and get hadens clothes off instead. since you obviously need some smut viewing,,,you could display someone people want to really see!!! stop stealing the x-mens abilities....they have been done to death. painting the future, stopping time, absorbing everyones abilities, knowing how things work and stealing the abilities from murdered victims, super intellect, healing, enterring dreams, all fresh unique ideas that made you great...even the walking through walls invisibility hasn't been totally done out in tv,,,but now you have added flash, magneto, pyro, electro, ice man,and up and coming hydro man...incognto. they took away far more than they added to a once great original series. we already have x men....why dont you go back in time and start the last 2 years over.
take hiro....have him go back to a real historic event and screw it up...an event we can all relate to like ww2 or the days of lincolnemoreless

angela patrelli, the hatian, micah, and noah bennet have been downcasted a good bit in this season. masi and haden are really in no position to complain about air time and if either one of them go , most of the fans will too.
by the way...remember when "ordinary people had special abilities?" get that raw screen play back....its looking like a sellout now. peter has at least 4 abilities that never have been used and the naive way he had in the beginning suited him much better than this loud attitude they gave him in the more recent shows. he's been around mica, jessica, and sylor has the hearing, intellect, illusionism...never really used, and now lie detection. they could do a lotmore with what was available but they took the hyped road instead. i loved the realness it lost...now its just another x-men freakshow.moreless

Pretty obvious it is Ali Larter and for that I am glad.

I just hope it isnt Hayden or Masi... It can be Ali, because in this season her character sucked badly. I dont think it is Masi because hmm he is too important and I am not sure about Hayden, maybe... her character didnt do much in season 3

    Jan 17, 2009
  • red5sw

I hope that its Ali. I don't like her characters.

Unfortunally, I watched only Season One. I have a good identification with this season's characters and I hope that all of them stay.

I guess Ali Larter...LOVED her character in Season One, liked her character in Season Two, and have completely forgotten her character in Season Three.

:( I hope it's not Hiro, I love Hiro :( I will stop watching if he leaves :(

The whole show has deteriorated into a ripoff of X-Men. Season three was lifted completely from "Days of Future Past" in which a hero from the future warns of things to come if the present continues as it is going. Season four looks like a ripoff of "Project Wideawake", in which people born with powers (mutants) are rounded up and interred for national security reasons.

Try to come up with something new, guys.

kindly do this with me, stick your right thumb up, then slowly rotate your wrist in counter clockwise direction.. thank you. that has been the story of heroes. its probably jack coleman or Greg Grunberg leaving. these are the only guys with a little brain to know that the show is sinking...

  • trunksgav

hmm yeh ali larter the blonde girl from final destination etc she doesnt ave a v big part at all so she cud be another possible candidate

    Jan 15, 2009
  • trunksgav

Im guesing Mohinder. has he hasnt really had much screen time at all n he hasnt got any powers as such. Hiro shud be staying has hes one of the best characters on there n has a fair big part. i cant think of anyone else that wud go unless it was Nathan

Dont know what to say with this news (or about the show all together) - One thing's for sure; if it doesnt pick up soon then I'm giving up on it for good. They killed Elle and Adam and Arthur already and Catilin, Mikah and his cousin have been completely abbandoned.... so onestly I'm at a point now where I couldn't give a rat's a$s who leaves next. Would like to see Nathan get killed off or Tracey even they're boring me now, so is peter; he's beginning to bug me! Anyway im hoping for the best with volume four, coz after the most boring season ever the final few seconds were impressive

...Bring back the spunk that volume one had! (and kudos on Bryan Fuller coming back to write since the actual 'best-show-ever' is now been bludgeoned to deathmoreless

i'd say it's probably ali.hayden can't go..or anyone else...... i don't have a problem with ali larter or her characters but..it's probably her.

i dont care to much for the show anymore it is gettng to far out there and hard to follow sometimes

    Jan 14, 2009
  • pscruton

I really hope that they end up killing off all the characters. Heroes has been pretty lame since the end of series one. I haven't even been bothered to watch the previous 4 episodes.

some how i thinks it's Milo he hasn't been in alot of scenes this year

gosh i hope its BOTH ali and hayden. they are terrible! heroes is already treading on thin ice so if masi goes the whole show is headed for the toilet

    Jan 14, 2009
  • kaynwil

I'm gonna have to say Ali can go! Hayden is annoying but I think she needs to be there. She still seems integral to the storyline.

Kill the cheerleader, save the show.

    Jan 13, 2009
  • Solo154

The show hasn't been the same since the second to last episode of the first season, they've been bad ever since the anti-climactic finale there. Please take it back in a better direction, like it was back then!

    Jan 13, 2009
  • Solo154

I hope its Ali Larter, too. It seemed ridiculous how they "brought her back" as a twin, and I miss Nikki/Jessica compared to the Ice Queen. My other thought is could be Greg Gunberg, but probably not.

    Jan 13, 2009
  • PigandRooster

I don't want anyone to go, they have gotten rid of most of the characters I didn't like on that show, but unfortunitly they also got rid of a few I like...

    Jan 13, 2009
  • dmitch84

hope its not Hayden if it is i not watching anymore..

    Jan 13, 2009
  • Kadodian

If it's Ali, I'm going to stop watching the show. Ali has huge fan base..her leaving the show would seriousley kill it ! This show is worthless without Ali, Greg and Milo !

I really hate this kinda stuff. Write a serie, and DON'T SELL OUT!I'm so sick and tired of all this bull about rewriting, extending, bla BLA BLA!Write a fracking script, write a story, stick with it! Whatever it takes, just don't make one good season, then 5 seasons of worthless garbage, and then conclude it with CRAP!What the TV-shows in the US needs right now is a 3-season LIMIT!

  • athenaisLost

It is Milo because he is a sissy!

    Jan 12, 2009
  • tribalchic

Another thing Heroes had done to follow Lost but is failing at it once again. TIM KRING WRITE YOUR OWN IDEAS!!!don't just follow on the footsteps of somone elses claim to fame and success and this won't happen. All heroes has ever been was The 4400 on a bigger budget, with "Lost's" storytelling format.

I donno know but if its Masi can be annoying but he is crucial to the show.
