Like, OMG I totally just heard that the new CW show Gossip Girl has totally been picked up for a full season! My BFF Variety told me! :)
That's right, the first new show of the fall to be given the order for a full season is the CW teen drama Gossip Girl, according to the online branch of the trade magazine. The move adds nine episodes to the new show, giving a full 22 episodes for its debut season.
The show follows the soap-opera antics of teens at an elite prep school in New York City. Written by Josh Schwartz (The O.C., Chuck), Gossip Girl has been popular among the younger demographic that tunes in to see how the rivalry between blonde Serena van der Woodsen and brunette Blair Waldorf plays out each week.
CW head Dawn Ostroff apparently confirmed the pickup to TVGuide.com. "People everywhere are talking about Gossip Girl, and we believe this show will continue to build audience as it builds buzz," said Ostroff. "Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have created an incredibly heightened reality world that viewers are locking into while advertisers, affiliates and press have also embraced the show. The series has earned its early pickup and we look forward to a long run on The CW."

Yes! Let's continue to produce television shows that enable the teens and young adults into thinking they're entitled to a life they can't attain! Let's show them how to act like spoiled rich kids and then expect them not too. In my opinion shows like this are worse than violence.

This may not be the worst new show on The CW, but I doubt it will gain any more viewers than it already has... it's already lost 850,000 viewers since the pilot. I made fun of this show because I thought is was just like 'The OC' (Which I couldn't stand) but on a different coast. I was able to catch this on Sunday and it was decent. I would be happy if it were to get a full season. Good for them!
