Rumor: Lost ringing in Bell

If reports from the Web are true, Kristen Bell could be going from CW cult television hit to mega-network juggernaut.

The latest casting rumors peg the former Veronica Mars star as a front-runner to fill a new role on ABC's Lost. Bell, 27, is in discussions to play Charlotte in the upcoming season of the popular drama, according to TVGuide.com's Michael Ausiello.

The word on Charlotte is that she is "precocious, loquacious, and funny...a very successful academic who also knows how to handle herself in the real world." The character will reportedly debut early in the upcoming season, which begins in February 2008.

Even without the Lost gig, Bell will be busy this upcoming season...though she won't appear in front of the camera. The actress has been cast as the narrator for the new CW show Gossip Girl from O.C. creator Josh Schwartz.

For more information, check out TV.com's previous coverage of Lost and Kristen Bell. Do you think Bell would make a good addition to Lost? Give your reasons for or against in the comments section below.

She is beautiful! I love her! It seems she is single now! Her profile and photos were found on an age gap dating site called agemingle.com last week! I can't beleive it!

The CW sucks... i want The WB back.

mizzpizza123; I agree with you, you have probably made more sense than most of us.

mizzpizza123: I agree 100%zedtaker: I have watched Lost and Veronica Mars as well and I disagree with your assessment of VM. I gave you a troll award because I found your comments to be insulting... If you want to give it back to me then thanks so much as it will be my first! :)I'm not trying to compare Lost to Veronica Mars as it would be pointless, the shows are different and don't need to be compared. But I will say that I enjoyed Veronica Mars more and I don't really care if you don't agree with me on that one.

I watched both shows and they were both amazing in their own ways. Lost is your typical prime-time show, filled with insane cliff hangers and amazing writing. Veronica Mars was your typical underrated, under appreciated show (think arrested development) and found the perfect mixture of comedy and mystery. It is a shame veronica mars was canceled but I don't think we can compare the two shows. VM fans should still be upset the show was canceled but don't compare which shows are better. And Lost fans should pay their respects to Veronica and not diss on their fans, you'd be just as upset if one of your favorite shows was canceled. The main point is that we should all delete CW from our channel list for making such crappy decisions.

eMetiB_101: as for calling me a troll, I don't think so. My comments are valid & make sense and you must have won that award before which is why you are trying to give it to someone else(sadly it won't happen cos that title really suits you).

  • zedtaker

eMetiB_101: I really enjoyed the first series and it was a great show. 2nd season was average and 3rd is kind of boring (haven't seen the finale yet-hope its good) BUT someone to make stupid comments like its better than Lost or can't compare, then the only reason I can think a person would say that is a teenager because most of the elements in the show were targeted at teens so maybe that is why they prefer this show more than Lost. I'm not a teen and did like Veronica mars but I would never say it's the greatest show ever. Your entitled to your opinion but I can't just read comments like that and not make comments, I just think you haven't seen Lost (or whomever said that) to make a comment like that whereas I have seen both shows and I can.moreless

zedtaker: congratulations on winning the troll of the week award. You obviously haven't watched much Veronica Mars if your spouting nonsense like Veronica Mars "had story lines that appealed to teenies". You're entitled to your opinion, but at least try to get your facts straight. Veronica Mars was a critically acclaimed TV show that was viewed by the mainstream adult demographic. Just because the lead character was a teenager doesn't mean that the show is only aimed at the teen demographic.

scootervin; I shouldn't even acknowledge what you just said because there is NO WAY Veronica mars is better than Lost and in some ways you are right. Lost does not compare to Veronica mars because Lost is in a league of its own. Veronica mars is a show that got like 3-4 million viewers and had story lines that appealed to teenies (I guess you must be one) Lost appeals to a whole new generation, gets like 15-20 million viewers not to mention over 100 million+ worldwide and is full of compelling, innovative storylines. In 20 years time everyone will remember Lost and as for Veronica who???

  • scootervin

You're insane! Veronica Mars was one of the best if not the best show on TV! LOST does not compare to it. But with her on the show it is sure to be much better. She's shines in everything she's in. The CW is one of the stupidest networks in existence. Veronica Mars and Supernatural are the were the only two shows keeping them on the air. Well, now VM's gone and Supernatural hanging in there...but I'm sure before long that the CW will cancel that one too because it's just too darn good for their network. CW sucks!!! Rock on Kristen Bell!!!

Cancelling Veronica Mars was the biggest mistake in the history of television? Please, don't make me laugh....it wasn't that gud and there are TONS of other shows that got cancelled and were wayyyyyy better than Veronica mars (unless that is the only show you've ever seen). It would be great if she was on Lost, the best damn show on the planet. Now, if Lost was cancelled, that would be the biggest mistake in the history of television!

Cancelling Veronica Mars was the biggest mistake in the history of television! ...and it's too bad that Kristen won't be joining the cast of Lost after all... I was looking forward to seeing her on screen again. Hopefully she'll get another show to call her own soon!

With Kristin on board, Lost will be even more amazing then it is now! If this is true, it'll be the best move the Lost-creators have made in a long time!
I love Kristin, she should be offered any part in te world!

Veronica Mars was great, but unfortunately that is no more, so now hearing the possibility that Kristen Bell might be on my favorite show is amazing news! Please let this rumor be true!

I sorely miss VM already.I think Kristen is a good enough actress to star in a show of her own or maybe do some movies.

I want VM back. Lost is in it's final days anyway-where do they go from here? Veronica Mars was one of the few things worth watching in its age group! Bring it back. Most of the new stuff is just reworked from older shows. This was fresh!

While the addition of Bell will boost the sliding ratings for Lost, I honestly feel lost without Veronica Mars. The J.J. Abrahms show on ABC no longer has the gritty edge it did even during season 2. Meanwhile, the exec's at the WB/CW massaged Mars into a decaying orbit that would not have happened, in my opinion, if they had committed to the series and left it alone.

Fortunately, there is VM on DVD, so I can still get my fill of 'those meddleing kids' without the stupid Great Dane and funkaliscious van

  • CollegePoet08

It's sad we won't be seeing her on Lost but look on the bright side...at least we get to keep here on the mainland! Better luck for future roles, a little closer to home.

  • eMetiB_101

Yeah... it's not going to happen  Bell Won't Be Getting LostI can understand why she wouldn't want to relocate, but this sucks for Lost and it's sad cause now Kristen won't be on screen again :(Damn it! I was really excited about this

Michael Ausiello (TV Guide) reported in his blog today that this is NOT going to happen. Kristen Bell doesn't want to move to Hawaii. :(

Guess i will have to be satisfied with having her on another of my fave shows...but would still like to see a wrap-up to VM!!!

there are 2 kinds of people here. one group is the veronica mars fans who wants here there. the other group is people who dislike veronica mars thus thinking that kristen bell is some kind of dumb bimbo that can't act. but she is a really good actress! despite the "controversy" about veronica mars. i for one think that it would be a great add.

    Aug 11, 2007
  • tainted_elf

Well, Ausiello just reported she won't get into Lost because, mainly, she didn't want to relocate to Hawaii. A shame.

  • edlweiss1

After seeing her knock her episodes of Deadwood out of the park, she is just going to bust Lost wide open. This is a really divine bit of casting in my opinion. This girl can act circle around a lot of people, and I think she'll fit right in with some of the outstanding actors on Lost. I hope she gets scenes with Elizabeth Mitchell. Those two could have an enigmatic-off.

  • Vital_Shot

Wow, way to go Lost. You picked a hottie. ;) I wish I could have seen her act in Veronica Mar's though. I never gave that show a chance. I watch Lost so, that'll be a good addition. Let's just hope she doesn't die off because of "The Other's".

good for kristen.. i dont like lost but she is a good actress so lost is lucky to have her

    Aug 09, 2007

She would be awesome on LOST, shame it cant actually be Veronica Mars.

    Aug 09, 2007
  • cordelia13

i think that she would be perfect to play in Lost

    Aug 09, 2007
  • HazelX

Is she a survivor? An Other? A flashback character? Or something else entirely? Maybe she comes in with Michael? Now that would be interesting.

    Aug 09, 2007
  • TheGoonies007

ugh, of course she'll be on something i don't watch, and don't really care to watch. O-well, at least she'll be on T.V. She is an amazing actress and Veronica Mars should be on, but no because CW sucks.

    Aug 09, 2007
  • MemnochZERO

Kristen needs to be on weekly TV and if she gets on my favorite show, well, my day will have been made. Hopefully the character doesn't get the same shabby treatment of Libby, Nikki and Paulo and is more in the vein of Juliet, Desmond and Ben in terms of story. Otherwise it'd be a waste of talent.

I dont know, i have never seen Veronica Mars. But maybe she would be great new character.

  • ACharmedJedi

This would be great, I love watching Kristen Bell on the screen, it will help ease my Veronica Mars withdrawl. Also from some of the above comments it looks like it would help LOST win some viewers back.

  • zukiki

Bah! I wanna watch Kristen Bell, But I really don't wanna have to watch Lost to do so. Hopefully she'll get killed off by the end of the season, so she can go on do better stuff.

    Aug 09, 2007
  • JayMc416

She seems like she would fit in well with the cast, just tan her up and make her look like she has been on an island for 3 months.

    Aug 09, 2007
  • JohnnyDrama8

I think Kristen Bell will make a wonderful addition to the Lost cast she is a good character actress. She was awesome on Deadwood as a scheming teenager with her "brother". Plus she is hot.

  • jaysmusicman

I watch 3 shows, Lost, Heroes and V Mars, before was hard to juggle between Lost and Veronica Mars the same day, Problem Solve! Lost gonna rock this season like it always has!

    Aug 09, 2007
  • HMaidens

Although this is still just a rumour, having Bell in the new season of Lost is bound to be awesome! She is a very capable actress and Lost does need a small pick me up, so overall, a great idea! I just hope it actually happens now!

I hope that will happen, I so miss Kristen Bell!!
