Supernatural fans, there may be some big, big things in store for the Winchester brothers coming up. But before we get there, you should know that the following information--which may or may not be true--should be considered a solid 8.5 or 9.0 on the spoiler scale. Read on at your own risk!
E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos is reporting that the producers of Supernatural may be adding a major character to the cast. Okay, that wouldn't necessarily qualify as an 8.5 or 9.0 on its own, but when you hear who it could possibly be, you'll understand.
According to E!, the potential new character will be…a third Winchester brother to join Dean and Sam as the sons of John! The information of another brother will allegedly be passed on by John Winchester…which will be interesting because he's dead.
What do you guys think? Is a new Winchester a good idea or a cheap gimmick?

no.Really that's all I got to say.I've heard things like, "oh dont worry, he's gonna die at the end of the episode. no worries there no effect on the brothers." HOW TE HELL DOES THAT NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE BROTHERS!!dude it's not just them anymore. This is a BIG factor on why so many people love Supernatural. If that's true, I'll simply stop watching the show. As simple as that. Kripke has already gone far beyond my limits of patience this season, and I've sucked it up out of faith. But a third brother would be the last straw.

I think another brother character would break the dynamic Sam and Dean have. Their chemistry is what makes the show what it is. I love the edition of Castiel and the Angels, and wouldn't mind another strong female character besides Ruby, like Charisma Carpenter for a recurring guest shot, as someone who helps the guys out, love to see that. I don't think they need another permanent riding in the car with them.
I'd rather have it stay the way it is now. I'm not against adding new people to the cast, but I think this would be a bad idea. Ofcourse it could end up being great in the end, so I'll just see how it is, if this is true. :]
I'm not sure what EK and company are thinking, but if I were a betting geek, and I am, I would say it would have something to do with the mirroring of the trinity. Not an exact replica, but going along the lines of Charmed, the power of 3 kind of idea. If that is not the case, the character is sure to be a character to advance the storyline, well one would hope anyway. In terms of the strong females, it is hazordous to be on the show. We're had some, Meg, Anna, and really Ruby 1 were all good, but unfortunately they were not human. And considering the awesome rule that angels and demons have to inhabit a boby on earth to move, kinda sucks! I hope our beloved Cas can stay in his body long enough! I sure don't want anyone else trying to fill Misha Collins shoes...cause lets face it Genevieve Cortese is NO Katie Cassidy.moreless
noo!! thats ridiculous. they do need more girls. NOT another brother. thats ridiculous. instead of adding a brother, maybe like another demon or angel or something, or cousing, or friend. NOT A BROTHER. the two of them is perfect. three might mess the whole thing up. Jensen and JAred playing Dean and Sam have this really good connection. Adding one will just be like really ackward.
The show needs major female injection. A permanent one. A sister or cousin is a great idea. Not another brother. The two that exist have been through a lot and changing the duo into a trio will stuff the dynamic.
I love the show.It is perfect as is with the characters. Bring in more of the angels story line.Not another brother/sister.

I think that Kripke should concentrate on good writing instead of gimmicks. We need to see some sincere forethought that goes into these plots. So much can be done to add flavor to the shows that is simply being missed on the part of the writers. What the viewers want is something believable not made up, something that is sound, not just for show. I would like to think that most people who watch Supernatural are not the same bubbleheads that watch other shows on WB just for the entertainment value, but really want to get something out of where the story is leading them. As I have stated before, if the show is going to concentrate on the end-times, then they should have someone who can advise them on what the bible says. If, however, the show relies on some liberal Christian-in-name-only for their expertise, then pursuing anything to do with the end-times will just turn more people off.moreless
I hope not. The new actress that plays Ruby is bad enough this season, but I sure do like both angels. Let's keep it to the two boys hunting things, saving people, together...we don't need brothers or sisters, just Bobby to keep them the boys in line once in a while. I love the adversarial relationship between Dean and Uriel.
You guys keep talking about how it will lead the show to it's death. But the show is only going for five seasons anyways, so it could be nice twist for the end.
Maybe we all guessed the storyline to well guys and Kripke et al have to add something more to the mix to keep one step ahead of us. BUT, three brothers forms a trinity ie Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Could Kripke be going there? And there was three "Charmed" sisters. Maybe the trinity will increase their mojo ie power of three. Or maybe it could pit two brothers against the other one, you know, like what happens in most families. COULD BE BAD!!! COULD BE GOOD!!!
A new Winchester brother would be a horrible ideea. This is usually a gimmick used to replace one of the lead characters (that usually dies), and I think that would really be a BAD BAD BAD ideea. It could work if he was dead and kind of haunting them, appearing from time to time with useful info.
this would b very bad.. better if it was a demon posing as a brother or sis that they end up killing.. but not a permanent thing it would never work and probably end the show.. twos company, threes a crowd.. would ruin the whole dynamic of the show..

gimick. the show has spent to much time building up the relationship between the two brothers. adding a third one wont work. i could see someone coming in and saying im a third brother and then them being a demond, but not another major character.
RUMOR!!! I'm not getting worked up until I hear it from the horses mouth. Plus it's from Kristen whose "spoilers" are half and half. Honestly it wouldn't make sense budget wise. The reason the actresses that played Ruby and Bela were axed was creative as well as budgetary. So then why bring in a new series regular if you had budget problems last season?

It could be believable as their dad did travel alot and if anything like Dean, it is possible. lol Why not add a sister too? Maybe Speedster from Heroes? Maybe Kristen Bell? lol
I firmly believe the Supernatural Third Brother thing is BOGUS!!
That came from Kristen at e!online, and I'm 98% certain it is a mis-reading (possibly deliberate) of two different sets of Casting Sides. One has to do with a Siren, the other has to do with names switched around in the script, so someone SOUNDS like a Winchester, but goes by another name. Key being - only the *names* are changed. Not the character. The person by another name who sounds like a Winchester clearly IS a Winchester. Kripke is messing with us. Again.
NEITHER casting side speaks of an actual real brother. The rumor about casting for this brother is entirely Kristen's guess. It's all "might" and "possibly" and "could."
And it's ONLY from Kristen. I've seen the casting sides. It's NOT a new brother, for either episode. Not really. This is Kristen's way of getting hits, and creating buzz.moreless
I'll all for the idea and if the show is really supernatural, with all the symbolism and allusions too good and even, the number three is definitely siginificant...and in keeping with the story's concepts.
Find a good actor to play the third brother and I'm game.

A new brother... oh comeon. They will never find a character as interesting as the 2 bros. If they would introduce a sibling it better be a sister. This show lacks a little of femme fatales.(Check Amy in season 2)

God, no, please, no! I like Supernatural b/c of it's originality (and of course, Sam and Dean!). But we did this with Charmed, let's not do it again.
and i wrote it befor reading the coments, you see everyone thinks that the show would turn into a male charmed everithing, the book the supernatural things all the cw should have cancelled this and keep charmed alive.

I think it could be an interesting twist. But I'd rather them (the brothers) match wits against a hunting team of sisters. Guess we'll see what happens. I'm open to new plot twists. Though if they do go through with this new sibling addition I think it may bring up some abandonment issues for all involved.
