Sci Fi expands Superhero?

Sci Fi Channel has ordered an expanded second season of the reality series Who Wants to Be a Superhero? The second season will include 10 episodes rather than the first's six.

The show follows hopeful regular folks who create a super alter-ego and attempt to woo the favor of Marvel Comics founder Stan Lee with their character. The winner gets to be the star of a comic book.

The first season of Who Wants to Be a Superhero? averaged 1.5 million total viewers a week.

"The show garnered great reviews, attracted a record-breaking number of younger viewers to the channel, and held its own against some very stiff competition on Thursday nights," said Mark Stern, Sci Fi's executive vice president of original programming.

I admit I watched the entire series, and the show didn't turn out to be as bad as I thought it would. Stan made some serious eliminations based on things people said or actions they took, and it seemed rather sensible. The only thing that went over the top were the considerable amount of crying jags supporting other players or whining about how they always dreamed of being a real superhero.

Looking forward to seeing this one...

I look forward to more laughs... The first season was hilarious! The second season should focus on creating a super hero group and a super villan group a member of each goes head to head!

This is a joke, surely. I couldn't even force myself to sit through the first half of the first ep of this travesty. I could not believe that The Great Stan "The Man" had anything to do with this pathetic joke of a show.

The show looks really weird, they shouldn't make it into a show. The money they spend here could have been used to make a really good tv movie for the sci fi channel.

I only watched the first series to see how rubbish it could be. One series was enough. No more, please.

I would have to disagree Billy. It's more like the greatest reality show to be devised. I just wish Major Victory has won.
