The 33-year-old actress and her fiance, entertainment lawyer Jamie Afifi, received the gift of parenthood for Christmas, welcoming their first child Charlie Rhodes Afifi on Christmas Eve, E! News reports.
Sarah, who plays Dr Elliot Reid in the hit NBC/ABC comedy, has been dating Jamie since 2003 and the couple became engaged while holidaying in Hawaii in 2006.
While the star may have lost her real baby bump she will still have to wear a fake pregnancy belly on-set while filming the next series of the show, as her character is currently expecting her first child by husband Dr John 'JD' Dorian, played by Zach Braff.
Sarah's Scrubs co-star Judy Reyes also recently gave birth, welcoming daughter Leila Ray in November.

i wonder how this is going to effect scrubs.... is she going to be pregnant twice, one immediatelly after the other or is she going to leave? i don't think they should cut another character... and jd needs to come back!
The dream is over, she will no longer be my future wife I guess;-)
