The 16-year-old's Disney series Wizards Of Waverly Place is up for outstanding children's programme at the prestigious awards ceremony, which will be held in LA in September.
She said: "I freaked out and I jumped up and down and I ran downstairs to tell my mom, and I said, 'Mom, we got nominated for an Emmy' - she was in her bed and I woke up my mom and my stepdad and I was freaking out and I don't remember what happened after that because I was too excited."
30 Rock's Jane Krakowski was also in shock when she heard her comedy was up for 22 gongs - and that she was nominated for outstanding supporting actress.
She said: "My first reaction, because I couldn't find the list online, I was like, 'No, no, send me the list. I do not believe this is real. You have to prove it to me by seeing it in writing'."
Jane's co-star Tracy Morgan - who is up for supporting actor - added: "I got a call from my manager. He said, 'Dude, dude, you're nominated!' Then I fell back asleep. I was out cold. LeBron James got into my dreams. He said I was nominated!"
The nominations were announced in LA by Chandra Wilson of Grey Anatomy's and The Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons. Both were among the nominees, with Chandra up for outstanding supporting actress in a drama for Grey's and outstanding lead actress in a miniseries or movie for Accidental Friendship, and Jim up for outstanding actor in a comedy series.
