Grab a Chainsaw and Settle In for the Cameo-Filled New Trailer for Sharknado 2 (VIDEO)

"You just jumped the shark," Mark McGrath says in the latest trailer for Sharknado 2: The Second One, probably one Sharknado movie too late. Syfy rolled out a new extended trailer for the next chapter of its social-media phenomenon, and it's heavy on Big Apple pride, airborne toothy fish, and surprise celebrity cameos.

The film, which premieres July 30 on Syfy, brings back many of the original's stars including Ian Ziering and Tara Reid. But the success of Sharknado has hooked several guest stars for the sequel, including McGrath, Vivica A. Fox, Andy Dick, Judd Hirsch, Matt Lauer, and Al Roker, all of whom can be seen in the trailer.

"Sharknado 2: The Second One".

Is that really the title? Honestly?

I thought those one- and two-word blurbs in movie ads from critics, like "It's a hit" and "Wow," were bad enough. Now social media comments (from people who could conceivably be corporate shills) are supposed to get me to watch something? #Desperate&Pathetic.

As a New Yorker I am personally offended. &:( Besides that you can see how poorly shot the movie is from the trailer. The sharks don't even look threatening. It just seems to be a parody of the first movie which already makes no sense. I don't even think this'll be so dumb it's fun. Seems like they are trying too hard and it'll hurt this movie in the short term and long term.

We'll see when it is released.

Maybe Roker thought it was Shartnado and assumed it would be a good fit for him.
